Hello everybody this is a short rant about grammar. I have been seeing a LOT of these mistakes. normally I wouldn't care about such petty errors but en masse they really drive me insane.

They're=THEY ARE;They're going to the park.
Their= Group Possessive;It's their money
There=location/thing; Is there anything we can do?

Your=Possessive; Your cat is white.
You're=YOU ARE. Ты are late to class.

Sorry I went elementary school teacher/Grammar Nazi on your collective illiterate asses but I just felt the need to reinstate some level of intelligence back to this club.

That is all.

Athenabeth I completely agree with you, it's crazy that people can't use proper grammar. Is it really that hard?

User20392 Yeah, I don't think it's that hard to understand. xD These people can learn to spell things correctly, but a lot of people just... don't. And many times when you correct them, they think you're just being rude. I just... I don't see at all what's so hard of understanding You're means You are, and stuff like that... Once I knew, I never forgot and spell it correctly.

User20392 Exactly, but they should. Everyone makes mistakes. Everyone. They should know that also having good grammar and spelling is better and can help them in many things. I remember when I used to kinda overreact and not accept most of my mistakes, but then I learned it's part of life. And no matter what, you can always learn English if you try. The fact many people get all defensive about it is that some people can be very rude when it comes to correcting others. They can use very rude words and some don't even apologize. So why not better teach them? And if you can speak their first language, that's even better. Also, rudeness does not make things any better, it can make them worse. Some people are dyslexic, others are typing with the cell phone, others just don't speak very well English, and others do it ''because it's the Internet so it doesn't matter'', I've read, which is a very dumb reason, but... well. We can just teach these people English, and also give them reasons of why it is better to have good grammar and spelling.

Trainofdoom Well I'm all for spreading knowledge, but I really think that they should learn it in classrooms, not from people on the internet. Sorry if I came across as rude though but you do make a valid point. I agree :)

User20392 No, yeah, of course. There [i]are[/i] people who don't go to school, though. No, I don't think you're rude. It's just very important to learn good grammar and spelling. What matters is that people learn.
