Neither really, but at lest the bad spellers (besides trolls) aren't so mean (no offence).

This is taken from my response on a different question Peole who are overly aggressive when it comes down to grammar and spelling; I can see them getting mad at peoples who is does types likes this, but they can be unreasonable towards people who make simple mistakes. No one is perfect and these people shouldn't be chastising them for small errors, it really makes a person feel bad depending how out of proportion it gets blown. Not to mention some grammar Nazis are in no position to start yelling, because their grammar sucks too! But I hate spelling Nazis more, about a year or two ago they would always target me and make me feel stupid. (It's because of this I am particuarlly distaneful towards spelling Nazis). I was never a good spell and never will be, I can't help it. Long story short most grammar/spelling Nazis annoy me, I think they are unfair and unkind. Not all the time though. I also think some of them do it because they think it's cool or they want to fit in, I personally don't think it's cool at all, more so a sugar-coated way of cyberbulling. But that's just me. With this being said I have a strong feeling that I'm going to get a lot of 'this wasn't spelled right' 'there needs to be a comma here' comments, just to annoy me.

I know it's just an expression, I take no offense to the term Nazi. It was supposed to be harsh, sort of how the grammar/spelling Nazis are about well... spelling and grammar. Like I said it's nit always gonna be cyberbulling, some people are trying to help, but some go way overboard and cross that line betokening helping and hurting. In regards to the chastising thing, I base this on past expirance, people have gone all out, all caps on me, telling me how bad my spelling was and how much I needed to go back to pre-k. (Lol thanks I try) I can see why you want to fix some mistakes and stuff, I mean it is important but I've witnessed and defended a user who was being 'arrested' for making a typo! I don't really hate grammar Nazis, I haven't had a problem with them in a while, but I had a crappy past experience with them.

I know not all of them are like that, but a few go overboard.

I'd say I'm more of a grammar Nazi instead of a bad speller. Sure, I sometimes do get lazy on my spelling, but if it's one thing I can't stand, it's text talk. I guess that's why I'd classify myself as a Grammar Nazi.

zanhar1 I can't say that you're arguments are wrong, but personally I haven't met such Grammar Nazi (lucky me).

Of course everyone makes mistakes, especially when we want to reply quickly on some comment, so spelling mistakes are not that serious (at least for me). But what I hate are grammar mistakes, big ones, when some user doesn't even bother to write correctly, justifying that it's not their first language. So what? English it's not mine first language either, but I try to write correctly. Fanpop is a great opportunity to learn how to use English in practice.
I'm sure that I also make mistakes sometimes, but I wouldn't mind if somebody told me that, corrected me, because then I would know how to avoid the same mistake in the future.

I'm against aggressive Grammar Nazis, who attack people just because they missed one letter in the word. But when I say eg. "You should use WENT instead of GOED because it's irregular verb" and the only response I get is like "fuck you biitch i know better it's goed ur stupid"... then I totally dislike bad spellers, their stupidity, pride and laziness.

Neither. My grammar is kinda neat, but it doesn't have to. If I want to write in txt, why wouldn't I? I don't mind when others do either.

I more against the term 'grammar nazi'. Seriously, what's up with that? Nazi's were people who shipped jews to working camps where they'd brutally exterminate them 70 years ago. They're still around today and their cruelty hasn't changed much. But now they haven't got anything against just jews, they think the world needs to be rid of all non-white people. Do you guys realize what you are joking about? Because I can't see how it would be funny.

@NocKairu: How do you know? It doesn't matter much anyway. It doesn't change how I think of it.

Bond_Of_Fury, I don't know, that's just my guess that "Bad Spellers" wanted to give some nasty name to their opponents.
And I don't want you to change your opinion about the name, in fact, you're right. And I know quite well how nazis treated people, simply because they murdered my great-grandfather and now one of the streets in my city is named after him.
