Clearly in the Twilight Saga, Jacob didn't graduate from high school, he looks after his disabled father which means if he did have a chance to go to college he would have to stay behind and look after his father.
As "mechanic", there is has been no evidence he earns any money.
Also, Jacob & Bella's marriage can't be based solely on love,it's impossible as nice as that idea sounds.
