So, we all know the Популярное urban legends. From the original stories of BigFoot, to еще modern legends such as the Slender Man. But, there aren't just original monsters in the world of Urban Legends. They're are also urban legends about video games. And thanks to the internet, it has made the legends even еще well known. So, I will go ahead and tell Ты all the urban legends that I enjoyed. Note: These are theories that are creepy, disturbing, and just plane messed up. Do not blame me if your childhood is ruined.
#15: Specters of Shiverburn Galaxy from Super Mario Galaxy 2 - Now, in Super Mario Galaxy 2, once you're in Shiverburn Galaxy, go to first person mode, then turn right and look up, and on the mountain, Ты will see these three dark figures that are staring at you. This is in no way an error или glitch, because they do have arms and eyes, so it was intentional. So, once people hacked into the game, the name of the mountain was called Beyond Hell Valley Sky, and the three figures were named Hell Valley Sky Tree. Kind of messed up when Ты think about it. I mean, why is Hell mentioned in a Mario game? People believe that this area is a is a place filled with darkness and death. Some believe that these things have been watching mario forever. However, what I wanna know is WHO THOUGHT THESE THINGS SHOULD BE CALLED TREES!?
#14: Squall is Dead Theory from Final Фэнтези VIII - So, this theory is about where FFVIII's main character, Squall, is dead. After Squall is stab in the chest by the games main villain after the first disc, he then awakes in the секунда disc... yeah, multiple discs to play a game. Can Ты imagine living in an age where Ты had to switch discs. It's crazy. Anyway, throughout the секунда disc, it is believed that Squall is dying and everything that is happening is just a dying dream. That explains why he is in charge of the group, while all laws of physics are changed. Now, I am not one to believe theories, but, I have to give them credit. They did do a lot of good work with the evidence. I'll give them that.
#13: Bound, Gagged, and Hung Glados from Portal - This theory is... really messed up. I'm just saying, for those who are not a big Фан of bondage... which is probably 90% of Ты readers, then just skip this part. Anyway, a gamer who was playing Portal was oddly disturbed by Glados's design. So, after looking into it, he believed that this Glados was designed to look like a woman in bondage gear who was hung upside down by her feet, tied up in a straight-jacket like shirt, and had been gagged with a piece of cloth. It does look like that, if Ты look at her Дизайн closely... but, I really don't want to... bondage freaks me out enough. I don't want that in my Portal game.
#12: Ghosts of Halo from Halo - Now, what makes this urban legend еще scary is that this one is actually real.... isn't that just great. The Ghosts of Halo are basically "players" in a multiplayer game that come in at random. Even if you're just playing single player on a custom match (And who does that), they can still come. Also, they never miss a shot, they have unlimited ammo, they just float around the map, and they can't die. What makes it еще scary is that, whenever Ты are killed by them, a point goes to this group called The Guardians. Also, these ghosts can cause network errors, affecting all players. Some people say it was a glitch, but, it is still scary, even to this day.
#11: Killswitch - Now, this urban legend is not about a certain part of a game. No, it's just one game that is the urban legend. Finally, something new. Anyway, Killswitch was a game made to be like our modern idea of those horror games Ты see on the internet. Ты know... those BOO-SCARY games, which, in my opinion are overrated. Yeah, thats what Killswitch was planned to be like. Ты could play as three characters. The first was a young girl and the other was an invisible demon. However, once people beat the game, the game would automatically Удалить itself, and erase every last detail as if it never existed. However, it was believed that someone bought this game in 2005. The man was named Yamamoto Ryuichi and he bought the game for $733,000. Jesus. He was planning to film the game, but, all he ever uploaded was a video of him crying, while he sat at his computer with the start screen of Killswitch on it. Either, he's crying because the game has something dark about it, или he realized he spent so much money on a game that is like every other horror game on Steam.
#10: Xorax - NOTE: I will be spoiling this insanely great urban legend. Please, if Ты have not read it, then go read it now, and then come back. If Ты have, then I will shut up and continue with the list. Now, this is actually another theory. What is it. We'll, you'll find out. It starts out with a boy who's family dies from a disease called Xorax, so, he, along with a group of other kids, are taken from their homes by men in gas masks and taken to the forest where they live in homes carved from trees. The men in gas masks believe that the kids have the cure in their blood. So, to keep the cure from running out, the men give the children a drug that keeps them from aging, but also, slowly, makes them insane. They say that they are being followed by balls of light. However, the boy telling the story tells us that he doesn't have a fairy. So, after the tests are done, the masked men leave the children in the woods, and they live there, and then, it ends with a ball of light telling the boy "Wake up Link. The Great Deku дерево wishes to see you"... WHAT. A. FUCKING. TWIST!
#9: Abortion Theory from Earthbound - Now, if Ты all remember my вверх Ten Избранное Creepypastas list, I hope Ты don't... that Список was a complete failure and I feel ashamed to have made it... now that that's out of the way, the Abortion Theory from Earthbound is a very Популярное one and still one that interests me. Basically, the games final boss, Giygas, who is just an unsettling son of a bitch, is believed to actually be an unborn infant. This is due to the fact that one f the shapes that Giygas's секунда form makes shows the outline of a fetus. Not to mention, Ты are going back in time to defeat Giygas when he was at a weaker state. Also, the Devil's Machine, where Giygas is found at, looks like a womans.... yeah, I think I don't need to tell you. So, it is believed that Ты are trying to abort a fetus. However, the games creator, Shigesato Itoi, сказал(-а) that Giygas was actually based off a scene he saw as a kid, which he mistook for a rape scene... I don't know what's scarier, the abortion idea или the fact that a Nintendo employee witnessed rape as a child.
#8: Children of Goldshire from World of Warcraft - Now... I'm gonna be honest... I don't play a lot of World of Warcraft. I can already feel people wanting to kill me already. But, I wont deny that this game has some pretty interesting things... one of them being this very creepy secret in the game. If Ты go to Goldshire at 7:30 AM, Ты will see these children. They may look normal at first, but, if Ты look closer at how they are standing, Ты will notice that they are standing in a pentagram shape. However, it doesn't end there. If Ты follow them into a house, all of the Музыка that is playing will stop and will be replaced by this eerie music, and occasionally, a deep voice will tell the player that they will die. So, yeah, a group of evil children with interests in the Devil... Either Children of the Corn, or... young siblings.
#7: Herobrine from Minecraft (Майнкрафт) - Okay, we all know about Herobrine. He is pretty much the gaming equivalent of Slender Man. He stalks players, messes around with the games landscape, and eventually kills the player. No one knows who or, еще likely, what Herobrine is. Not even Notch, the games creator knows. However, Herobrine has stated that he is related to Notch in some way. This raises so many Вопросы that it is just impossible to think of them, so I won't....... but I probably will anyway.
#6: Morrowind Jvk1166z.esp - Now, just like World of Warcraft, I do not play much of the Elder Scrolls games. However, I can't deny that this is an amazing urban legend. So, this game was made when people began to hack Morrowind and build there own games. Once this game was made, it took players to this alternate world of Morrowind. Now, this isn't any of those cursed games like "OH GOD, THERE'S BLOOD, GUTS, AND ALL THAT SHIT EVERYWHERE AND THERE'S RED BLOODY EYE'S AND AVI'S EXE'S AND JPG'S"/ No, there's none of that. This is еще of a "What if..." world. Pretty much all of the characters involved with the story are dead, and your character has failed his quest, and whenever he talks to someone, they just say, "Look at the Sky". And whenever he stopped, he would lose health, as a creature called "The Assassin" was slowly draining his health, but, could not be seen, until the character died, and the assassin would then mutilate his corpse... as best as he could in this game. So, yeah, this is how Ты do a cursed game urban legend. TAKE NOTES, SONIC.EXE.
#5: Misfortune.GB - Now, this is a game that is very freaky, and Ты will find out soon. Misfortune.GB is a game where Ты play as a boy who is challenged by a demon, who has to be the most unthreatening looking demon in video games, to play puzzles. So, by playing puzzles, Ты advance further and further into the game. However, one puzzle is of four cabins. Choose the right one, and Ты win. Choose the wrong one, and a loved one, in reality, will die. However, Ты can get a game over, where, if Ты do, the demon will say, "I am God here" and, if the player is to witness this screen, then they will eventually die. What makes this game extra creepy is that, this game isn't on any cartridges, discs, or.... whatever the hell DS's us. No, this game is actually hidden inside Gameboy cartridges. It is hidden in Pokemon Blue and Red, Legend of Zelda: Ссылки Awakening, and more.... This is why I stick to console gaming.
#4: Lavender Town Syndrome - And Ты all thought that Pokemon was a kid friendly game with lovable creatures and animals... Well you're... kinda right, since this story isn't proven to be true, but it is still messed up. So, back in Japan, when Pokemon was first released, it was sold to hundreds of children in Japan. However, once they reached Lavender Town, the Музыка had very loud pitches, making many kids get headaches, have seizures, and some even committed suicide. So, to keep this from getting any worse, the creators changed the pitch of the song, and resold it, while recalling the original copies. Great, as if Lavender Town wasn't a fucked up place already.
#3: Polybius - So, there is a lot of information on what is going on with this one arcade machine. But, I just want to talk about the two big things. So, Polybius was a game that that was released in one arcade in America. People were so addicted to it, that lines were made for this machine and even fights broke out over who would play it first. It was kind of an addicting game. However, this game would give people insomnia, night terrors, memory loss, and some would even kill themselves. How ever, each day, men in black Форс-мажоры would come into the arcade, collect data from the game, and then leave. Then a few years later, the machine was taken out of the arcade and was never seen again. But, what is really creepy is who designed it... The game is believed to be designed... by Shigeru Miyamoto himself. Yes, the same Miyamoto that brought us Super Mario could be believed to have created Polybius. It isn't proven yet, but, it is believed that he keeps the data and evidence for this game in a Donkey Kong arcade machine locked behind a steel vault... Hopefully it stays there.
#2: постель, кровати Drowned from Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask - Oh, it was REAL close. Ben Drowned was so close to taking the number one spot, but, there is just one urban legend that beat him, and we'll get to it in a minute. But, anyway, Ben Drowned is a story about a guy who buys a Majora's Mask cartridge, but, once he plays it, a bunch of creepy things happen. For instance, the worlds map is all distorted, Link's body is all deformed, it is impossible to escape certain areas, the Музыка is in reverse, Link dies from unknown reasons, and the Link Statue is following him wherever he goes. While looking into the game more, it is shown that the game is cursed by a boy named Ben who drowned... How he drowned is unknown, but, this was the urban legend that paved the way for many good urban legends that were to come... it also paved way for bad urban legends....... (COUGH Sonic.EXE COUGH).
#1: Evil Otto from Berserk - Now, how is a pixelated smiley face еще scary than any of the other urban legends. Well, tell me this, are these legend proven true and have they killed anyone... Ты see where I'm going with this, aren't you. So, Berserk was an Atari game that was released in arcades around the country. Many people played this game, as it was one of the first to have voices in it. Ты have to know, voices in games was very revolutionary at the time. But, if players took to long to exit a stage, they were then attacked by a thing called Otto, who was named after the developers boss, who, whenever he fired someone, he had a smile on his face. Like the games Otto, when it kills you, it is smiling. So, how is this urban legend scary. Well, in the год of 1981, a man called Jeff Daley died from a fatal сердце attack. Then, in 1982, Peter Berkhouscie died, also from a сердце attack. The odd thing is that, both of them died at the young ages of eighteen and nineteen, which are very odd ages to have сердце attacks, and both of them died only after earning the high score. Some say that the pressure of getting the high score was so much, that their hearts gave out. However, the thing is that they both died at the same time. They both died two секунды only after posting their high scores. Sure, people have died in arcades from dehydration, Exhaustion, and other such things, but never has an arcade game caused a сердце attack. That is what makes Evil Otto the scariest urban legend... in my opinion.
So, there Ты go. Did Ты like this list? Tell me below. With that, I will see Ты all Далее time
#15: Specters of Shiverburn Galaxy from Super Mario Galaxy 2 - Now, in Super Mario Galaxy 2, once you're in Shiverburn Galaxy, go to first person mode, then turn right and look up, and on the mountain, Ты will see these three dark figures that are staring at you.
