Sex and sexuality is a taboo in my family, so if I ever tried to explain the concept of asexuality to my mother, she would never get it.

Well, I haven't told my dad yet, but my sister and other who I've told think of it as just a phase.

My parents said they accepted it and me, but I get the feeling they didn't really believe it.

My parents out right think 'I just need to find the right one' it's like okay I'd be cool with dating but there will be no biological kids.

It annoys me. My mom asks me as she's driving to school, "Do you have any crushes on any boys?" I say, "I'm asexual." She chuckles and says, "No you're not." I love her, but she doesn't know what I feel.

well, i have brought up the topic of asexuality alone around my mother before, while she seems to be fairly cool with it she outright stated that she found a romantic relationship would probably be complicated if it did not involve sex, so i think there's definitely some work to do. i'm sure she wouldn't have any sort of problem with it but the thought of her thinking it as an impediment in romance behind the curtain is kind of annoying

Well, I'm like thirty and still asexual, so by now my family has fully accepted my asexuality.

I think mine are finally starting to get it since I've been persistent.

My dad took it way better than I thought :) Now I just need to tell the rest of my family :/

The only people that know are those I know from Fanpop, Facebook and my younger sister. None of my family members know and they'll never know because I personally don't see it as their business.
