Nearly every exchange student that has come to my school expected koalas to be in every gum tree and to see kangaroos hopping around. I know people who have been abroad and have been asked if they ride to school on kangaroos. Hehe.

And the sad thing is that I do wear my rubber thongs come rain, hail and shine ^^

I hate vegemite, however.

Another Aussie who doesn't like vegemite, that's great seeing as we're all supposed to love the shoe polish taste.

Though i went overseas and poeple thought we had native animals everywhere and that we rode Kangaroos to school! lol oh and the old drop bear! lol =)

a friend of mine went overseas to penang and told a little girl that they had a kangaroo in their backyard and we dont have any electricity in australia, and she believed him.

When i was at Sydney international airport some americans were at the car hire spot and asked if they could hire some kangaroos....:/

once my class had to do an assignment on what we think an australian looks like and the person next to me drew a person with a cork hat.

im from canada and i didnt see a difference between aussie accents and british accents till i made close friends, i know aussies who havent touched koalas or kangaroos either. and i used to think EVERYBODY said g'day mate, but they dont. btw im canadian, not american, because im just that cool :P canadians are better than americans and i could give 10000000000000 reasons why!

i wear thongs during any weather....and love the local pub...so those two are probably not too far from the truth, but the others.....

My friend told me yesterday that she tried vegemite on toast yesterday for the first time ever. She's 17 - we were all a little disgusted at the lack of patriotism lol. I did say "And you call yourself Australian??" But she said she'd never had it on toast before. Oh! Toast well that's different! lol.

I used to live in outback Australia and I did actually know a couple of people who had pet wallabies. They were SO adorable!

Lol, yes! I talked to some people on fanpop and they were like: "so, you live in Australia then. Do you ride to school on kangaroos and have them as pets?"
