Gale Hawthorne is a fictional character of The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins.Gale is an 18 год old who lives in District 12. He is Katniss's best friend and her hunting partner. They met when Katniss was trying to hunt for her family (about 6 months after her father was killed in a mining accident) and when she killed an animal, Gale accused her of stealing from his trap. Once the two had talked, they bonded over the fact that their fathers had both been killed in the same accident and that, as the eldest siblings, they were responsible for their families.
