'Brooklyn Nine-Nine': 'New Girl' crossover details revealed

Former Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch will guest star as himself on Fox’s cop comedy, EW has learned. In the episode, Lynch comes into the precinct for questioning after he witnesses a bunch of convicts escape from a prison van, though that could pose a challenge for Jake (Andy Samberg), Terry (Terry Crews, also an ex-NFL player), and their fellow detectives, considering the notoriously press-shy nature of their witness.

The episode featuring Lynch — who was named to five Pro Bowls — airs at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT on Jan. 1, and represents the first installment of a two-part winter finale, with the second episode airing directly after it at 9 p.m.
