Does God truly frown upon homosexuality?

I interpret the laws against homosexuality in the Bible as being specifically against lust, of any kind. However, considering how much emphasis is placed on love, and how several men in the Bible have incredibly intimate relationships with each other (partly due to the misogynistic concept that women are inferior), I do not think that the Bible anywhere condemns Любовь between men или between women.

In fact, there is only one explicit reference (that I know of) to female homosexuality at all, and it's within a lust context. I don't remember exactly where it is, but I'll look it up.

The majority of references to homosexuality in the Bible generally have a hint that it's homosexual lust that the Bible is against. On one occasion, it does very specifically say that if a man lies with another man as he does with a woman, kill them both (Leveticus). However, we do not kill people for their trespasses according to the Bible, do we? Perhaps, as some have mentioned, this was a rule made for health reasons, to prevent the spread of STDs and other illnesses via what the Bible terms "sodomy." It was for this reason that a lot of rules were laid down in the Bible - to keep the people healthy.

Because of the times in which the Bible was written, and because of it's lack of mention of female homosexuality, (and it's demonization of female sexuality in GENERAL), as well as an overwhelming emphasis in the New Testament on Любовь and intimacy, I believe that God will not condemn a person for love, regardless of whom he или she is in Любовь with.

And that is my position, as an Agnostic who respects Christian beliefs. However, for the record, it is also the position of several Christians I know, so I am speaking for them.

Romans 1:26-27
For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

I beleive the bible is clear that Homosexuality is a sin. That being сказал(-а) let me add, "For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God."Rom 3:23 Also, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Иисус our Lord." Rom 6.23
So all of us have sinned and it is only by God's Grace that we are saved.

Now Иисус was responding to a Вопрос about divorce, but it is clear that he beleived that a man and a woman was the correct relationship.
Rom 1:26-27 "Because of this God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandonded natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust with one another. Men committed indecentacts with other men, and received the due penelty for their pervsion." This passage is talking about a progression that happen as we reject God. Men and women are condemmed equally in this passage for homosexuality. It does not imply as someoneone suggested that women are only good for sex. If Ты read 1 Cor. 7, Paul talks about that husbands and wives should not withold relations from each other
except for an agreed upon time of prayer and fasting. Afterwards they should come together less either be tempted in their weakness.
The last verse in Rom 1 talks about the end of the
moral decline. It is not enough for people to practice such things, they (and society) approves and encourages it. (Could that be part of the reason we are discussing this?)
I do not beleive God makes people gay. I think there are influences and enviromental tendecies that leads a person in that direction. I do not have time to expound on those now.
One thing I would like to make clear. God loves homosexuals and we as Christian should also. We can Показать them Любовь without giving approval to there actions. Without prayer and Любовь would any of us be saved. Sinners sin, it's their nature.
In the church, and with Christians there is no place for homosexuality. Same with fornication, stealing and a long Список of sins.
We live in a world of people going to hell. Do we want them to feel better about that? Or, do we spread the good news of forgiveness of sins and of new creation? What do think God desires? Thanks for reading. God bless.

I'd like to think that it's just an outdated Old Testament rule, like wearing two kinds of fabric at the same time. I don't understand why God would want to deny someone happiness by witholding them from being with someone they love. Plus, it isn't a choice, and why would God purposely make someone a certain way just to say, "You're gay, but Ты can't be with men/women, so you'll have to pretend to be straight all your life."

God loves all of us, even the Остаться в живых sheep. and those that judge should be without sin to throw the first stone. for those that throw the first are always guilty themselves, and hate themselves, and if someone shoul find out , oohh boy, will they be embarassed. why would he condemn, love. many men in the bible had many wives. what happened if they got bored waiting for him to get to them. what is ok for a man is ok for a woman. this is the age of aquarius, where people should be open, and understanding, unles they hide a secret themselves. and if they were blindfolded, they would not be able to tell who kissed them, only that they liked it, so too was kate perry song;-]

Well, Genesis: 1:27 - "God created man in his image; in the divine image he created him; male and female he created them." So god created humans in his image. The Bible does not state that he created man and women in his heterosexual image.

He did say "be fruitful and multiply" and at that time in the story, only two existed. At this time in contemporary life, population overgrowth is a problem as poverty is rampant. Species need to reproduce to maintain their existence, but human existence is not in danger in that way. We are in danger in other ways such as famine, over-population, war, climate change (global warming) and other ways humans have harmed the earth, and due to any unknowable cosmic event (such as the asteroid believed to have wiped out the dinosaurs.)

We are living in a time, in history, that is very different from the times of the stories described in the Bible. How can Ты apply the (mythic) stories from over 2000 years назад to today?

What does this have to do with homosexuality? Do we know еще about life than people did eons назад when the Bible, the Torah, was recorded? How can the Bible contain the truth when it is full of contradictions? If Ты are to take one thing for truth, how can Ты also take an opposite thing? Do Ты take literally everything stated in the Bible? Are Ты living like the tribes of Israel или the early Christians thousands of years ago? There is much the Bible does not account for.

However... since God created us with free will, since god created us in his image, whatever Ты believe about homosexuality, God created us exactly the way we are--or else we would be different.

People don't choose to be homosexual или heterosexual any еще than Животные do. If Ты must throw lust out the window due to Leviticus, would Ты also throw out love?

Does God frown upon homosexuality? Who can speakd for God? Let God speak for himself. (I don't hear anything.) Does God frown upon people loving each other? Would God frown upon a woman being in Любовь with another woman? What comes of Любовь is еще love. We don't need еще babies. (And we can reproduce without intercourse due to scientific innovation anyway.)

In such a world as we live in today, we need as much Любовь and compassion towards one another and toward the earth as we can manifest. As if God cares who loves who when all of creation is in serious danger due to our human acts--not due to homosexuality. That is simply trivial.

If you're going to follow the Bible или the Torah at all, God created us *in his own image*--thus, we are straight, gay, transgender, etc. *in his image*. Get over it.

I'm not going to pretend I know everything about christianity, in fact I don't know what I believe in but I was raised in a christian household. I have seen both sides of the story and being 20 myself I can't say I know what it's like to have children so I cannot see from "Gods" point of view but I think that if my children hated and chastised each other based on who they are I wouldn't favor one или the other I would punish them accordingly instead of letting them hate each other. Aside from that I think there is something in the bible about not judging или Ты will be judged, so is being who Ты are really worse then making those around Ты feel like less then human или not loved by your own father? assuming that he is real, do not take this as my saying Христианство isn't real, I support all religions and freedom to choose, myself recently have been interesting in the wicca culture myself.

It's ironic that in the Bible God has sex with a woman who is not his или single. He does not ask her permission if she wants to carry his child he just makes her. Now the Bible was written in the days if when men controlled the world and the way it speaks of women is apparent. The Bible if ficticious crap! If God was real then why would he condemn those who want ro be happy and allow those who like to murder, batter women to death to live? Men ruled the world for too long and the bible is just another way that man feels stronger as it is the only way idiots can control people. I personally believe that this book is a collection of chinese whispers. If Ты can prove me wrong please do so, I waited around for 2000 years but haven't seen a секунда coming! Also it is proven that the world is older than the Bible so aurely these religious nuts must accept that science can prove certain theories wrong. Stories is all a book is, its just this book became a Популярное hit and always will be as people like to believe in things that make them happy.
