There was a science fiction movie done in the 1970's (could have been early 80's) that was post-apocalyptic and featured a cult that was based on "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" (the book was their bible). This movie was not Zardoz. It was a movie where the foe of the main character was the leader of the cult. Ring any bells? The movie reminded me a little of the Mad Max movies that came soon after. This has had me stumped for a long time. I have been through the entire Wikipedia SciFi Movie list and I still have not found the title.
