In July, there were over 700 new cases of covid-19 per day in the state of Victoria.

A decisive lockdown was implemented.

We just had our fifth straight day of no new cases and no deaths (dubbed "double doughnut" days lol).

We're now opening up our economy safely and efficiently, and will hopefully have a "covid-normal" christmas.

My point is: despite Trump's claims, lockdowns DO work to reduce cases (duh) + they're not "worse" for the economy when you take into account the fact that it's short-term pain for long-term gain
