Will write something longer later, but she's so aggravating. She's so wonderful in the beginning, then just becomes derogatory, disappointing, and downright mean.

Tiana starts off so sweet as a child. while under the influence of her father. She loves him, thinks the world of him, and likes to cook for him. But all that changes--- her whole demeanor and her whole behavior changes--- when her papa dies. Tiana becomes a constant nagging, angry, disappointed, depressed, stick-in-the-mud. She is grieving for her father, understandably--- but she treats the people who try to help her achieve her dream of owning her own restaurant with such meanness. She's outright rude to Ray. She treats Naveen like a sack of sand who is weighing her down. She ignores Louis, and she only seems to tolerate Lottie. I just think she needs a wake up lesson, and at least, by means of Dr. Facilier's offer---she finally remembers that her father LOVED PEOPLE, not a restaurant, and his love of people made his heart warm and brought people together. Then Tiana has her wake up call. Before that, she's a completely snarky, prickly person, and a terror to be around. I wish she remembered her father's memory sooner. Her meanness made the largest impression on me.

My third favorite princess, she learns that even she wants her dream to come true, she gives it up for her love for Naveen.

Eff it, I'm not editing that. I think that you're opinion is utter BS to me, 8804. And I'll be blunt about that, sorry. That's a sincere sorry for being blunt. (I'm still against your opinion, though) I will, however, be editing this.Sorry, Jen, I'm ruining this, aren't I? Well, we DP fans can be pretentious anyways so this should've been expected from my immaturity.
Edit:

Tiana is a hardworking black woman in 1920s-1930s New Orleans. In this time, black people were still having a rough time. Tiana's father died, leaving his mother and Tiana alone to support themselves. Tiana has always dreamed of owning a restaurant, like her dad inspired her to do. Tiana isn't a stick in the mud or depressed, she's determined and strong willed. She's unpredictable and a powerhouse in more ways than one. Instead of feeling sorry for herself and eating from a tub of Nutella everyday, she makes HERSELF better and gets back up whenever she falls down. We see this a lot, and don't pretend that you haven't. She's well flawed as well, she works o hard to achieve her goal that she refuses to spend time with her friends and relax a little! She's a great, if not the greatest DP especially in the terms of being a good rolemodel. By the end of the movie, she was well developed and realised to have a little fun. Her father didn't make the restaurant for money or because he loved cooking, but because he loved to cook for OTHER PEOPLE. Tiana always loved her father and her mother dearly, but she was so blinded by work that she realised that love is the most important thing out there. She risked settling down for a goal! Tiana is truly inspiring and left me in awe after the movie ended. She made her "labels" proud and positive, he made her parents proud, and in the end, she learned a lot about herself and others. Tiana is like a cinema and Confucius put together, I could watch her and LEARN from her forever. And I would still love her for everything she is <3

Tiana initially seemed a bit boring and flat to me, while I quite liked the movie itself for its music and setting. I really loved all the colors that was put into the design, and something about 1920's New Orleans was simply magic to me. At first most of my character love was or Charlotte, what with her ecstatic personality and urge to get a prince. But the more I thought about Tiana and what she was doing, the more I grew to love her. She wants to open up a restaurant herself in lower USA during the 1920's; obviously not the most accepting time back then, what with racism and sexism among other things. Tiana being a Black woman during this time period meant she was regarded as being unimportant and incapable of business especially. Of course this is a Disney movie, and they probably didn't want to show blatant racism or sexism to children here, [had it been not a children's movie, it would've gone down the same road of 'The Help'] but it was surely hinted. [Ex: Mr. Fenner: "a woman of your.. background..."] So Tiana just ATTEMPTING to do this in a time when it was considered radical and a completely stupid [even dangerous] idea to do so, is very inspiring to me. She also worked her entire life just to get her restaurant, and you can see how driven she is to do this. That in itself is inspiring; working hard to get what you want and make your dreams come true, even if considered impossible by many, is so important. Tiana's and Naveen's quality of life juxtaposed together is also quite interesting, and I can understand why she was rather annoyed by him in the beginning. She grew up in a poor household, but she STILL manages to do all this in such a hard time. I really think Disney should make more movies like this. Tiana is definitely an awesome character to me.

She's my favorite. I like that she doesn't seem much like the others-there's something about her personality that sets her apart from them. She's a very realistic character. She has her virtues and is very admirable, but she's also pretty heavily flawed. She can be very rude and completely blind to what's right in front of her, not to mention constantly imposing her morals on others and then betrays her morals for the sake of others.

I originally had a hard time with her. Just looking at her makes me feel tired and I just don't get the whole workaholic mentality. Lottie is so much more fun. But she grew on me, and sorting out my feelings I realized at one point that it's not Tiana who bothers me so much, it is Naveen. Tiana is actually not that bad of a character...but I somehow like the smiling, laid back version I see in the concept art of Tiana better.
