I think teenagers mostly choose to see themselves in Elsa and Belle, but most of them behave like Ariel and Rapunzel.

Selfish, bratty, irresponsible, bails on everything for her own needs, lies to people, doesn't consider other people's feelings, never learns her lesson, boy crazy to the point where she can't look past her own nose, etc. She's the stereo-typical idiotic teenager who doesn't give a crap about anyone else, to the point where she ditches out on her friends and never says thank you for the things they do, and tease them when they don't go on her schedule. Ariel neglects her family, and she doesn't do anything else to change her from just being another teenager who can only look at herself.

Bratty, self-absorbed, inconsiderate, irresponsible, reckless and impulsive to the point of endangerment, boy-crazy and thinks of nothing and no one else once she falls "in love" (with the total hottie she knows nothing about besides his looks), etc. Yup, she is the stereotypical modern teenager.

No, Merida. Ariel does quite a bit but a lot of teens today (especially the nerds and punks) sneer at boy crazy girls. it's pretty uncool in some circles to be romantic and I can't say I know any teens who are.

Despite the complaints about Ariel, it's very clear that she and Merida are the most like a modern teenage girl. All the problems people have with Ariel is the simply fact that it's just typical for most teenage girls.

She's the closest.

She perfectly resembles the stereotypical teenager.

Yeah, she fall in love with someone from the first look and her actions with her father are not obedient at all and she wants to be with her love by any way.
