I think it's a combination of all of these, except for her being intellectually curious and stuff. I don't see much (if any) intellectual curiosity in Belle, nor do I see that much of a desire to learn. She mostly seems to read simply as a source of entertainment. Like most people in real life, Belle reads a lot simply because she loves the act of reading. It's not so much about what she takes from it (although I do see having a mental adventure as part of the reason).

Also, with the "loneliness" one, she did at some point, complain to her father about not having anybody to talk to and she does try to talk to the people in her town, but she's often shut down, so I do think that options a possibility, although I don't think many people will agree with that one since I'm probably the only person who doesn't see her as antisocial or snobbish.

Because the internet has not been invented yet. xD

A few reasons I believe,I think she reads to escape to a more exciting world,also besides the company of her father I feel that she may have felt lonely at times since her village saw her as odd since she was different than them plus she was a very bright and smart young woman.

I agree with magnolia (again). reading itself is not necessarily a sign of intellectual curiosity and by extension intelligence- look at society's hatred towards Twilight fans, people call those books vapid and horrible written and even call the fans stupid for reading it. It mostly depends on what sort of book and why you read it.

It's also entertainment and a way to feel like she's not alone. I don't really think she reads for intellectual purposes as she does for wanting adventure, thus reading so much she's does obtain an impressive vocabulary-- at least to her village. But I mainly agree with this choice.
