Her performance is fantastic, though I think she would've benefited better from just being a villain in a traditional Sleeping Beauty live-action remake.

She was terrific.

The movie has a very good "gothic" medieval look. A little too dark at times, but it does seem to capture the atmosphere of the original film. It's certainly more appealing than the look featured in the other cash in dark fairy tale films (Jack the Giant Slayer, Red Riding Hood, Snow White and the Huntsman).

Also the acting, the costumes and the effects.

I like all of the things you listed, except for Aurora's character in Maleficent. They screwed up her mysterious, calmer, more introverted, but still elegant and fun personality the original film captured.

Jolie's a great actress, but I felt that her performance suffered due to having to be an anti-hero. I'd have liked her better as a villain. Fanning didn't really seem like Aurora from the animated film at all, although her acting wasn't inherently bad either. I thought that Diaval was a pretty good addition, though, and I liked the effects and costumes.

I may ship them a tiny bit.

I honestly can't stand anything else about the movie.

Love Aurora! she's so sweet, fearless and curious!

I love Diaval! And Angelina's performance.

I also thought Diaval was a really cool character.

Jolie's boss. Also, the relationship between her and Diaval (@anaswill, I ship them too a little bit xD), the effects and the costumes.

Honestly I really can't stand this movie but this was the only thing I liked.
