She wanted to know what makes a fire burn. So I do see her running around trying to find books on the subject. She wanted to know what humans were reading even before she saw them up close.

She's the only one that really read books beside Belle.

^ Belle and Rapunzel are not the only princesses who read books. Also, reading the same fairy tale over and over doesn't win you brownie points for reading.

^Yes they are not the only one who read books, but the rest who were seen read books onscreen like Cinderella and Ariel are actually didn't really read any of words written on the book. Cinderella only saw the image of dress in a book, Ariel only flip some pages through out a book she found. Rapunzel however, state that she read three books and reread them.

^but it's the same three books-- just like Belle reads the same fairy tale over and over. I don't consider that enough, particularly if it is only fairy tale. For me, that's not enough to consider Belle and Rapunzel thirsty for knowledge. They have to want diverse things, like science (Ariel), cooking (Tiana), and dressmaking (Cinderella). Not just three books ( on known subjects, Jack and the Beanstalk and a prince in disguise). That doesn't make me think they love to read.

And Rapunzel.

Rapunzel read science books and when she entered the town, she went to the library and was reading a lot of the books in there. She loved reading and discovering more about the world around her.
