This is Ariel's month. It's almost over.

I noticed that other princesses have not received any non-relatable polls during their month of honor. So, I'm flipping this around, and focusing on Ariel's good qualities.

What DO you find good/relateable in Ariel? Or, what abusive area in your life is similar to hers?

Only this.
“Good” and “relatable” are different things.
The only traits Ariel and I have in common are stubbornness and obsessiveness I guess.

^Then, that's what you've found relatable. For each princess, I am trying to focus on good things about the month's princess.

For instance, in Tiana's month, I'd probably say, "her ability to cook," and her "indomitable spirit/never giving up on her dream to own a restaurant."

Dragging out the qualities "you don't like/or don't possess" is not positive. But that's your choice. I'm focusing on the good.

I am focusing on the truth. A person who has trouble with boiling nuddles, always switches hobbies and goals and friends would probably relate to none of Tiana’s good qualities.
Believing I have any of Ariel’s good traits would only make even more flawed than I am( same with Rapunzel and classics). Because it would add “delusional, self-deceptive, with an overly high-esteem” to the list of my flaws.

^So, now, you are psycho-analyzing a personality that is different from your own.

You think, that appreciating a person who has a different set of interests/values from your own, which you consider to be flaws, is not productive. Maybe, for you.... Ariel is "delusional, deceptive, and overly high self-esteem." But I could say that about Belle, and I refrained from saying so, during her month.

Respect is important. Back in December of last year, I respected Belle and her fanbase, even if I am not a Belle fan. You could show the same courtesy, here. I have Ariel's personality. Telling me that her "flaws" are not something you can stand is yours to own. You've owned it. Now, let's go focus on Ariel's positive qualities, instead.

@wavesurf This was a good idea for POTM polls :) I have a list of poll ideas for POTM, would it be alright if I added this to the list to use on another POTM?

My mom might be liberal now, but when I was a kid she was too protective of me and wouldn’t let me do anything. And there were times when my dad had a really bad temper when I was little too. Not as bad as Triton’s where he got violent, the worse I got from him was a spanking (though tbh I’m one of those people who doesn’t believe in spanking kids...)

@BB2010: You're welcome to use this idea, lol. But I'd definitely like to steer it towards being positive about the POTM. You can throw in a tad bit of realism in the princess's life, just as I did here, as this makes her relatable for her qualities. It isn't all sunset and roses for each princess. But there's definitely way too much negativity in the world already, and I think positive vibes and kindness are always warranted. ;)

@wavesurf oh of course! I want to be as positive as possible for any POTM no matter who it is. The point is to celebrate that princess and I want fans to feel safe to show their love for their favorite princesses

This is a great idea wavesurf! I agree that each princess's month should be a focus on the positive. Thank you also for refraining from making any negative comments about Belle during her month. It was noticed and appreciated <3

I relate to Ariel a lot, especially at the current stage of my life, but not totally to most of the options in this poll. I always had a pretty good relationship with both my parents, although my mother was at times quite overprotective of me when I was younger. She very heavily censored my media intake.

I definitely think I am open to new experiences and non-judgemental, this is what I relate to most of these options. I relate to Ariel because I've just uprooted my life to live in a new culture where I don't speak the language, so it feels a bit like I've lost my voice just like her. I've got a few hobbies I'm passionate about, but not on the same level Ariel was passionate about her collection. I am eager to learn, but definitely afraid to make mistakes. Likewise, I am curious about life but not very impulsive. I wouldn't say I have an indomitable spirit, I can sometimes get discouraged easily.
