I can't believe it and I heard it with my own ears

Can you tell us why?
I for one never thought she was the smartest, but she certainly isn't dumb. Ariel, Snow White, Aurora, and Pocahontas are all dumber than her. I'm not shocked b/c everyone has their own opinion.

Personally I'm tired of all this negative focus on Belle. She's my least favorite but I still like her. I know I'm guilty of some of it, but I'm still tired of it. I only bring it up when necessary.

I could understand why your friend might think that, but come on. She may not be the smartest, but she is smart.

So what? That is their opinion.

None of them are geniuses and with the evidence suggesting intelligence for any of them being tenuous at best it really just comes down to matter of personal opinion which is often coloured by bias.

In all honesty, I don't give a damn. To each their own- why should I care if one single person in this vast universe believes that a cartoon character that is often considered the smartest in her group of classification is in fact the least smart?

Also, I agree with princesslullaby. In fact, we shouldn't have any unnecesary princess hating on this spot. I'm all for expressing opinions, but really, some people just go overboard with it.

Chip was kinda smarter than her. he got Maurice and Belle out of the cellar.
But not Belle.
it wasn't smart of her wanting to touch the rose, too.

All of these negative comments on Belle are annoying me, a lot. Ok Belle is a pretty popular princess, but disliking her doesn't make you original in any way shape or form. I believe this is the main underlying reason people dislike her, not because of her character, personality or traits but because of her popularity amongst fans and many people crave for to be "different." This is of course my opinion, don't have a go at me.

Any way, I believe Belle to be one of the smartest princesses. Up there with Mulan, Cinderella and Tiana. I would say Belle is my second smartest princess.

@disney_prince- I totally agree with you. I know Belle is my least favorite, but I still like her a lot, and I have actual reasons for having her last. I think people now are starting to put her lower because they see other people putting her lower.

I agree with disney_prince...and I agree with you too KataraLover about the Snow White thing...it's like all of a sudden everyone has hopped onto the "I hate Belle" bandwagon or something. I respect that everyone has an opinion though.

I really think she isn't that smart. People only think she's smart/ smarter then the previous princesses because she likes to read. That does NOT make someone smart!
