I love Meeko and Flit, but they really annoy me at times (why Thomas doesn't annoy me, I don't know). I just think Thomas is a tad more fleshed out. He has faults, and looks up to John for guidence. And in the end, he took charge.

Although he did mess up a LOT of things, you can kind of see how confused and tormented he's feeling. He doesn't know which side to be on. Which, like I said, makes him more fleshed out.
