\'Game of Thrones\' Renly hails Brienne as queen for avenging his death

Game of Thrones has been added to your favorites.

"Game of Thrones" Season 5 was full of bloody deaths, but one death came as quite the satisfactory end for the Brienne of Tarth fans -- who can count amongst them one Gethin Anthony, the actor that played Renly Baratheon on the show in Seasons 1 and 2.

Saturday (June 20), Anthony tweeted about Brienne (Gwendoline Christie) finally avenging Renly\'s death in the Season 5 finale. She was in love with Renly before he fell at the hands of his brother Stannis\' standow-child. She vowed revenge for the man she loved and protected, and now she has finally done it -- and Anthony celebrates by writing, "Brienne for queen."

The night may be dark, but the morning is light and full of truth brother. #brienneforqueen @GameOfThrones @WiCnet @westerosorg ;)

And for those who think perhaps Stannis isn\'t dead yet, well -- actress Gwendoline Christie more or less confirmed it to the New York Times, saying "it\'s fantastic" to see Brienne finally get revenge for Renly\'s death, which is something "she has been carrying for all these seasons."

Christie adds that now "there\'s all of Stannis\' army there without a leader" and perhaps Brienne will decide "she would be best served as a leader and led the army. Or let\'s not forget that she has Valyrian steel."
