Going back to the first episode; what was the significance of Uncle Marty's money that he brought to the island? Did he know something else about the island that we don't? или was the money being brought un-related?

Well, This is my theory... I believe he knew Henry was Wakefield's child. Thus, setting up the whole father son killing duo. He could have brought the money as some sort of bargaining chip too stay alive and if not he had the gun in self defense from them... Uncle Marty had very specific plans with that money. I think that he was paying Hunter Jennings to kill Thomas Wellington. In that bag with the money was also a gun(for self defense), a blue container and something that looked like a cable.
