how could voldemort have thought that he was the only one who knew about the "room of Остаться в живых things" if there were centuries worth of stuff piled in there? he would have surely noticed the mounds of stuff, wouldn't he?
i think he was blinded by his false belief that he was the only one clever enough to know of its existence. he didn't think much of the things hidden in the room.
so Ты think he just thought all that stuff was there to help him hide his diadem? i guess that makes sense. maybe he wished the room to look like that and he never wondered about where all the stuff came from.
It was my understanding that he thought people's Остаться в живых things just ended up there. It is likely that nobody else ever found the room during his time and like it was explained, the room turns into what Ты need it to be. It was different for everyone. So nobody ever saw the same room unless they both were looking for Остаться в живых things I suppose.

interesting idea. i wonder how he thought all that stuff ended up there though?
Ты know, I thought the same thing. Maybe he was under the impression that they were just part of the room, not that others put them there? I have no idea, let's hope someone else Ответы with a better answer :)

yeah, maybe he wished it to be like that so he didn't think where all the stuff came from.
was there centuries of stuff? Perhaps he was the first one to find it, perhaps he created it, and openened it up to be that. After all, someone had to be the first to use the room of requirement for such a purpose.
Maybe there was only 50 years worth of stuff in there.
