Only because I knew someone named Hermione.

I don't remember how I used to pronounce it, but it definitely was not right.

before I even read the books, my sister and mom always pronounced it as Hermione so I was able to pronounce her name right :P

When I had the 1st book read to me (as I was only 5) my stepmum pronunced it as Hermione so I never said it wrong :P

Yep! My dad's also a big HP fan and when he would read the books to me when I was younger he would pronounce it the right way :)

well i've seen some of the movies before reading the books

I was pronouncing it in Italian and that's : HER-ME-O-NA (e). I know the correct pronounce in my head and when I talk to english people but I just pronounce it in Italian when I'm here so people will understand (it's also pronounced like this in the movies).

I didn't say it out loud, at leat not what I can remember. Thought it pronounced different before I saw the movie. I blame it on my native language :P Something like HEAR-ME-Å-NEH in Swedish.
