is that even a question? Helena is amazing!
She created a convincing and unique character in every single movie I saw her in! And I've seen her in MANY movies...
...while Emma has only done Hermione and some fashion shootings so far. We'll have to wait and see if she proves that she's a good actress too. Time will tell...
Ugh Helena is like my least fave actress. I dont see why ppl think shes so amazing. She also only gets into movies her husband is involved in. Hmmmmm wonder how she always gets the part. *cough* Tim *cough*
She got in countless movies before Tim, if you've seen her interview fir Sweeney Todf she talked about how hard it was to get the part, Tim told her she had to try out lime everyone else which goes to show she does earn her parts. Last I checked Tim didn't direct Harry Pottet either. Im sorry but it annoys me to no ebd when people assume she onlh gets jobs because her boyfriend is the director. She has definatly earned her parts. I know for a fact Tim did not direct Lady Jane and A Room With A View those where some of her first few roles. I love her because she's not just a great actress but she goes for parts she can have fun with not one that get her moeny and she throws everything into each performance. She isn't afraid to be herself in front of the camra and isn't afraid to wear strange things. She seems like such a nice person. I admire her as an actress and as a person. Even if you dong like her acting you can at least admit she has a cool personality.
@ kris10853: Tim's lucky he's married to Helena and she agrees to act in his movies. As for her only getting parts in her husband's movies, here's just some of the movies she's been in without her husband:
Toast, 4 Harry Potter movies, The King's Speech, Fight Club, Terminator Salvation, Sixty Six, Wallace & Gromit in The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, Conversation(s) with Other Women, Till Human Voices Wake Us, Lady Jane, The Heart of Me, Novocaine, Mighty Aphrodite, Frankenstein, Howards End, Hamlet, A Room with a View, etc, etc
Emma still has lots to learn. Lucky for her she's had the opportunity to work alongside Helena, and if she's smart she's paid attention and learned something from one of the masters. With more experience she might reach Helena's level.
I generally adore Helena as an actress (love her in Sweeney Todd!) but - and I know I'm in the minority here and will probably get ripped to shreds over this- I LOATHE her portrayal of Bellatrix. The way she goes around cackling and whispering everything she says (especially the scene with Snape in HBP)...I can't help but cringe. When reading the books, I always imagined Bella giving off a feeling of cold, paralyzing terror because she's so unforgiving and powerful and sadistic, but Helena's over-dramatic, comically insane portrayal of her makes me feel like I'm watching a bad episode of Days of Our Lives or something. I wish she'd been more subtle about it...it's just too over the top for me.
She's an amazing actress.
Nothing against Emma but I do love Helena so much!
