So I wanted to make this quick-ish Статья about how the Фан of the месяц thing works. Who knows, maybe some of Ты who didn't want to participate before may want to now! These things are usually done in еще active spots like spots for couples или Популярное tv shows, but this spot is NOT really that active and that's why I wanted to do this contest thing. I want to encourage еще activity! So here's just a general Вопросы и ответы about FOTM! I hope Ты participate!
How is the FOTM determined?
A pick will be made (by me) with usernames of the people who have participated within this spot in the last month. Then users will vote for who they think has done the best job. The pick will close at a certain date, and whoever has the most Голоса then will be FOTM.
Can I vote for myself?
Well yeah sure! I can't tell Ты who to vote for. If Ты think you've done a good job with the spot and have participated feel free to vote for yourself and/or add your name to the pick!
How do I get others to vote for me?
By participating of course! Ты can add yourself to the pick and vote for yourself, but the only way to guarantee Ты will get Голоса is by participating in the spot! Sending messages или leaving Комментарии to people to vote for Ты is just in bad taste. So please try to avoid that.
What influences a vote?
Like I've said, activity in the spot. Here's a little Список of things that might influence a user to vote for you.
Videos - Adding trailers, movie clips, interviews, etc to the spot.
Pictures - Adding wallpapers, photos, icons, screencaps, and/or Фан art with proper credit.
Picks - Adding picks, coming up with creative picks, etc.
Links, Articles, Trivia, Forum - Also generally anything in these sections.
Comments - Комментарии are really crucial to the spot. Sure, lots of things can be added to the spot but if nobody Комментарии on them how do we know if they like it или not?!
Do I win anything?
Um, bragging rights? A sense of superiority? FOR A WHOLE MONTH! I mean, how cool is that?! Ты deserved it after all, for being FOTM in the horror movie spot of all spots. I think it would also be a pretty cool idea to conduct an interview with the winner, which will be Опубликовано here. The Вопросы would be horror-related of course. But in short, no Ты don't win anything material at least.
Please keep in mind that when Ты vote, Ты are voting for someone who has participated WITHIN THE месяц OF THE CONTEST. For example, if Ты see someone has added a lot of great фото to the spot in November 2008, they should not qualify for your vote in FOTM. This is Фан of the MONTH, whoever has participated the most within the месяц of the contest.
So, I hope that was not too confusing and I start seeing a lot еще activity in the spot! This is supposed to be fun, I don't want to encourage any harsh competitiveness! Just do your best to participate and enjoy!
