Cuddy was buried up to her ears in paperwork and it was only noon. She put her face in her hands and sighed. She couldnt get House's hurt expression out of her mind after seeing him on the balcony.
She had дана House's team a case earlier so she figured he would come bursting into her office sooner или later with some crazy 'necessary' surgery. Now that he had his license back he would have to ask for these procedures.
She would never admit it to anyone, but she missed that part of her job. She missed going toe-to-toe with House, it made her feel еще alive

Cuddy heard a knock on her door and looked up. She was surprised that knock had come from no other than House. Normally he would have thrown the door open so hard it bounced off the wall.
She waved him in and looked at him curiously.
"Need your permission for a procedure," he stated as her reached her desk.
"You knocked," she сказал(-а) disbelieving, "you never knock."
"Isn't that what I'm supposed to do," he asked looking back at the door.
"Yeah, but that never stopped Ты before," she stated eyeing him curiously.
"Well anyways, getting back to the matter at hand. I need Ты to sign off on a brain biopsy," he handed her the file.
She looked over the file quickly. "None of the tests are even back. No."
"Ok," he сказал(-а) taking the file back. He turned around and walked out the door.
She looked after him trying to figure out what was wrong. She couldn't figure out why he had just дана up so easily. Normally he would argue with her until she caved.
She was hoping it had nothing to do with Lucas. She cursed herself for thinking so selfish, but she couldn't think of anything else that would have changed his attitude.
She made a mental note to herself to talk to him later.

"She сказал(-а) no so we need to figure out another way to cure this kid," сказал(-а) House as he walked into his office.
"What do Ты mean she сказал(-а) no," asked Foreman.
"She сказал(-а) no," сказал(-а) House glaring at him.
"She never says no. Ты always argue with her to prove your point and convince her she is wrong," сказал(-а) Foreman eyeing House curiously.
"Well I didn't argue with her, but your еще than welcome to try," сказал(-а) House.
"Fine I'll do it," сказал(-а) Foreman grabbing the file and walking out of the room.

The door to Cuddy's office burst open and she looked up. She was hoping it was House, but it turned out to be Foreman.
"Why'd Ты say no to the procedure," he asked.
"Because none of the tests are even back. When they are in then we can talk. Which brings me to the Далее thing. Why are Ты here," she asked eyeing him suspiciously.
"House сказал(-а) he didn't argue over the procedure, but I was еще than welcome to try," he сказал(-а) shyly.
"My answer is still no. Now that it's his department I want him asking about these procedures, not you. And tell him to come to my office when Ты see him."

I was Чтение up on opiate withdrawal and apparently Ты can go through withdrawal not just to stop taking the drug, Vicodin in House’s case, but to reduce the amount you’re taking.
So in House’s case, like Wilson said; his Vicodin levels where way to high and so the only option was to let his body recover and reduce it’s need for that amount it got everyday.
Therefore, the Далее morning when he was seemingly better; it was because of the extreme cold-turkeyness that House used to reduce his levels of Vicodin in order for his hallucination of Amber to go away. So I don’t think it was a hallucination, because he hasn’t quit Vicodin, he has only reduced the amount he takes within the Космос of a horrible 24 час detox. His body no longer craves the Vicodin every час или so like before.
Short and simple :)
