How could I possibly NOT write a one shot after that *____*

Wilson stood in front of House's apartment door trying to recompose before he knocked on them.
He'd gotten a call for Foreman, some odd 2 hours before. The call had alarmed Wilson. Foreman had сказал(-а) that House was in the worst shape possible and not only was he physically hurt, he was mentally unstable as well.
Wilson was so afraid that House would most certainly do something really stupid... like taking Vicodin... или pushing a нож into a socket.
He just hoped it was neither, took a deep breath and knocked on the door he'd been standing in front for the past five minutes.

A few минуты and a few еще knocks later, Wilson heard familiar footsteps from the other side of the door and breathed a sigh of relief.

House opened the door to find Wilson staring at him with slight confusion and disbelief.
“What?” House squinted at his best friend's facial expression and then looked at himself to see what was so strange about his appearance.
Oh, right. He was wearing a robe.

“I can't believe it!” Wilson exclaimed trying to keep his voice down, after all it was 8 am and he really didn't want to wake anyone up.
House eyed Wilson suspiciously, trying to figure out whether Wilson knew Cuddy was at his apartment.
“You have a prostitute there?!” Wilson's jaw dropped a bit.
'Obviously not' House thought as a smirk appeared on his face, which, Wilson, of course misinterpreted.
“Oh.My.God.” Wilson pinched the bridge of his nose. “I can't believe... A prostitute is not a good way of trying to forget what happened”
“I think prostitute is a bit harsh word.” House smirked again watching his friend raise his hand in disbelief.
“House... if Ты need me, I'm here.” James sighed and looked at his friend pleadingly.
…. and then James was met with a door being shut in his face.

“Who was that?” Cuddy asked soaking a towel in the bathroom. She really needed to change House's bandage. He was still bleeding a bit.
“Wilson” House сказал(-а) matter-of-factly nor really bothering to fill in the details of his friend's visit.
“And Ты shoved the door in his face?” She frowned nodding at him to lean on the tub so she could treat his wound and change his bandage.
House took her sign and let out a “Yes, I did” as she approached him with the now wet towel in her hand.

He shot her a questioning glare. “You don't want him to know или Ты just don't want him to intrude?” He winced a bit as she tried to rip the bandage off as gently as she could.

“Both.” She grinned “And what fun would it be if we told him already?”
She looked at him awaiting for a snide remark she knew she would surely get. She looked at him and thought about all the things that happened that day.

How they were at that construction site, arguing and snapping at each other.
How she tried to explain to him that she had been getting married, when the only thing she wanted to do had been to forget the whole engagement ever happened.
How she'd told him that she hadn't loved him, and how hard had those words escaped her mouth.
How she'd witnessed him confessing he regretted not having his leg amputated and how the tears had found their way down her cheeks just listening to him.
How she'd known what she had had to do when she'd heard Hannah's cries and then seeing her being taken away in the скорая помощь with the man she finally admitted to herself she loved.
How she'd come to his apartment just to find him ready to pop pills and how it had all led to her confessing her Любовь to him.
How all that talk led to something she had been afraid she'd never get from House.
And all those kisses. They all replayed in her head just looking at him. Their small talk after they hadn't been able to breathe anymore too and just decided to spend some time enjoying each other's company.
Of course, it had been a silent agreement. But they'd known it had been one.

“You know... I really like you” House smiled at her as she started pressing the wet towel on his already heeling wound.
“Better. Because if Ты didn't... this whole thing would be a complete failure” she didn't notice his amused look as she pressed the towel to his wound again.
“You don't think this will be a failure?” he reached for her hand, stopping her and making her look at him, letting her know he was being serious.

“This will surely be a failure. But it will be our failure. And we will make it work for us” She looked down at him, letting herself to get Остаться в живых in his eyes for the umpteenth time in those brief two hours since they'd gotten back from the construction site.
They just stood there in silence, Cuddy holding the wet towel in her hand, leaning over House, and House leaning on the bath tub trying to find any sign of that whole день being a hallucination.

“Wilson thinks I'm with a prostitute” he finally broke the silence, which, not so strangely, wasn't awkward.
“That is just great.” Cuddy beamed as she reached for the new bandage that she'd placed on the sink before. “He'll feel guilty later and you're gonna poke fun at him”
“When exactly is that later?” House asked, both of them knowing what he meant with that question.
“A few weeks, maybe?” Cuddy replied... they both knew what they were doing was both risky and thrilling... and they deserved to explore that alone for at least some time.
“A few weeks it is!” House сказал(-а) in a cheery tone trying to sound like those creepy guys in cartoons.
They both fell silent again as Cuddy continued to treat his wound.
It wasn't only after she'd finished did House say
“Hannah was right...” he sighed earning a frown from Cuddy.
“About what?” she looked at him, sadness evident in her eyes the name of the girl reminding her of how awful her ending had been.
House dropped his head a bit, not really sure if what he wanted to say was too much...
Cuddy, got the hint and just leaned towards him and placed a Kiss on his forehead.
“Maybe Ты should get some sleep... Ты don't need to come to work today” She smiled.. something she figured would become her habit. или rather, her old habit back.
“Wow. Having a relationship with my boss is paying out already” He grinned as he watched her place her hands on her hips.
“House... it's Sunday.” She giggled as he frowned a bit. “Get some sleep while I go Главная and check on Rachel. She's been with the nanny for a whole day... And when Ты wake up, call me”
He smiled at her words. Call me that sounded so simple, and yet somehow thrilling.
Hannah's words rung in his head.
When Ты do nice things, nice things happen to Ты too.
And looking at Cuddy, he started to believe that.
