hmm, I think he's scared of getting hurt, sure, but also, he knows he ends up hurting people and pushing them away... so I guess it's easier to be alone.

And i also think there is a part of him that is both scared of being hurt again as well as scared of HURTING Cuddy as well.

Both this one and the getting hurt one i think. poor House :( but this should be interesting XDDDD

I think PotterGal has it nailed. Stacey wasnt just a fluke. She was a character on the show, used to reinforce the trust issues House has. "Everybody Lies" is his inner mantra because from birth, he's been lied to. First his parents carried on a 50 year lie. The "love of his life" (Stacey) was a total liar, deceiver, and manipulater. Plus, when things change, it always seems to cause him stress. Cuddy's the ONLY one who has ALWAYS had his back and had trouble lying to him. You dont want to screw with that.........i suppose:)

I agree with you all! House doesn't want to become vulnerable again and feel humiliated if he falls in love and then loses it. Cuddy can't lie to House and has accepted that she can't and always has to have Wilson to force her to lie to him. This is why House is finding this extremley diffcult.

Maybe , because they've signed contracts through season 8? If House and Cuddy get together now, what will they do for the next 3 years?

House isnt really one of those sappy guys who are just waiting to confess their "love" for someone! not to mention he is afraid of change and dating your boss would be like a huge change!
