The rising sun beamed in through the passenger window of the Bronco and warmed Kate. She opened her eyes, for the first time in months her dreams the Назад night were happy instead of sad and terrifying. Kate trotted toward the house, her tail held high and her eyes scanning for any sign of Buddy. The backdoor was unlocked and Kate went inside. Upstairs she headed toward Jon's room and nudged the door open. Stormy was in her usual spot by the nightstand.
"Stormy where is Buddy?" Kate asked.
"He is in Paul's bedroom I think." Stormy replied.
"I have something to tell Ты Stormy, Ты must not tell anyone else understand?"
"I wont don't worry."

Kate eventually ended up at the trailer house in the mountains. Why she did not know. Cautiously, Kate headed down into the ravine. The small creek running through there now was only a foot wide and about 6 inches deep, hard to believe so much water had been running through here not so long ago. Kate saw the remains of the dam and how it was blasted aside. She came upon the ledge where Jon had thrown her to safety and finally to the Стена he had climbed out of. The marks from his climb were still visible in the wall, Kate began to climb. The climb to the вверх was a struggle even though it was dry, and she could not imagine how hard it must have been for Jon. There were no scents here anymore but Buddy's paw prints were still vaguely visible at the top. Kate looked down at the bottom and saw the rock protruding up that Jon had landed on and broken his back. Kate slid down the ravine and continued her stroll along the creek. She came upon the sandbar where she found Jon, the indents from his body laying there were still there, as well as a few of her paw prints.
Kate blamed herself repeatedly once again. If she had just stayed up there at the house with him that день none of this would have happened. Why on earth did Buddy kill him anyways? Kate realized now that it had been a setup since Buddy lured her down into the ravine to eat off the deer carcass. How the dam broke was beyond her, maybe Buddy had done it somehow. It was not entirely impossible since he disappeared for the longest time. Kate did not understand how Buddy could live with himself for doing such a thing.
How could Ты look into the eyes of someone who cared about Ты and kill them? Jon was never a big Фан of Buddy but he cared about him a lot and treated him as one of his own. Jon was just kind of a jerk to Buddy at times but that was no reason to kill him. It had to be something else, only way to find out was to confront Buddy and ask him.
Something rustled in the nearby bushes and a бобр, бобёр, бивер scuttled out and looked at Kate with its beady black eyes.
"Hey aren't Ты the one волк that that big brown dog lured down here?" The бобр, бобёр, бивер asked.
"Yes I am, why?"
"Oh I am just amazed Ты are still alive is all, that dog asked me and my Друзья to help break that dam for him, we needed the water downstream for our new one."
"You realize how much pain and suffering Ты have caused me?" Kate growled at the бобр, бобёр, бивер stepping closer to him.
"I don't give a fuck about humans, they destroy our habitats and trap us for our pelts!"
With that the бобр, бобёр, бивер scuttled away and голубь into the creek and swam away. Kate looked after it with an angry expression. At least now she knew why the dam broke. Kate had at least found out some еще Ответы and she began the journey back home, taking her time. She would need to think of a way to confront and eventually destroy Buddy for what he had done. Kate would make him suffer and pay for what he had done to the one she loved еще than anything.
