have Ты heard that Tim полиспаст, бертон has shown an interest in remaking 'Labyrinth'?

Ты know i've heard a number of myths about the making of a Labyrinth sequal. The Jim Henson studio's have had on-again-off-again production for a sequal to the Dark Crystal and talks were that if that film did well they might Переместить onto the Labyrinth 2. I actually had the pleasure of meeting Cheryl Henson (jim's daughter and now president of the Jim Henson Foundation) she neither confirmed nor denied this. Although, i've heard that Jennifer Connelly has expressed interest if production was a go.

There have been a few Labyrinth Манга Книги written based 16 years later with Jareth wanting to retire and have a now older Toby be the Goblin King. Much like the original film, Sarah has to go after him. I like the sound of this plot.

As for Tim полиспаст, бертон directing it: God i hope not. I Любовь the man's original work, I really do. My loyalties still lie with HIS Бэтмен films, and Nightmare Before Рождество is one of the greastest animated films of all time. HOWEVER his style has become too iconic and somewhat self-indulgent that i think it would distract from the film in the EXACT same way it did to 'his' take on Charlie and the Шоколад Factory. And if he should stray from the original format and 'make it his own'...i would lose respect for the man. AAAAAaaannd if he cast Johnny Depp as Jareth...well...I'll wait till that happens to make any death threats. But I seriously can't think of many things that would make me THAT irrate. He could produce it though.

unless they get David Bowie to play in it it would probably suck, cause when they remake Фильмы and don't us the original characters или actors. Just sayin...

I'm not too surprised but i think it'd be pretty cool- the only guy i think that could be match for Jareth is Johnny Depp (and Ты know if he auditions he'll put his all into it and do his absolute BEST to bring the role justice). We'll just have to hope that if the film IS redone that Tim will do his best to make it worthy of standing Далее to the older version regardless of who he hires as the main cast (fingers-crossed it's Johnny).

Tim полиспаст, бертон is an AMAZING person with such wonderful movies..ok Labyrinth is by far my Избранное movie since i was little and Jim Henson is a legend(may he rest in peace)and Labyrinth is Jim's movie creation that should not be remade..ok it could be cool with Tim Burton's imagination style but it would not be the same with Jennifer Connelly,no one can take her place,maybe Ты can change toby,but even Jareth(David Bowie)could not be played by anyone else..it would not be the same..at all! AND...if they just used only computer Анимация for their creative ideas what would be the point of that? where would the "magic" be? Oh my god please no! I'm sorry, but Labrynth is an effing CLASSIC! Not only that, but everything Tim полиспаст, бертон touches now a days is just turned "dark" and into an INSTANT hot topic craze for all the stupid emo-kid tweenies. Labrynth should stay amazing, no sequels или REMAKES!

But I don't really want David Bowie to be replaced by Johnny Depp.
And it not likely he would use Jim Henson puppets.

Honestly, Tim полиспаст, бертон is an amazing Director but I have been in Любовь with this movie since I was a little girl and I don't think it should be re-made in any shape или form and if it was, it definitely should not be re-made by Tim Burton.

It would ruin the image. I mean, I have always hoped they'd come out with a sequel because I would've loved to see Jareth and Sarah get together.

If this were to have been talked about many years назад & put into motion, I probably would be all for it but David Bowie is getting rather older now and it wouldn't be right to have anyone but him play Jareth in the re-make или in the sequel.

I think he shouldn't even try to remake it. There's no possible way to recreate that movie!

I know this is almost a год old, but I hope he changed his mind about remaking this. This is a classic that shouldn't be touched in my opinion. :(

I think that if Tim полиспаст, бертон did this movie it could go either way. the good thing is that Adam Pascal could play Jareth. His voice sounds amazingly like David Bowies, he is an awesome actor and very nice to look at too. I am a huge Фан of Tim Burtons and this happens to be my Избранное move. I hope if he decides to take it on he does a great job.

I've only recently heard about these rumors about Tim полиспаст, бертон so they're pretty old... and I think that they are simply just that. Rumors.

I've read the other Комментарии on here and I do agree with most of you. Tim полиспаст, бертон is an extremely gifted man but this movie should NOT be touched. It's a classic for a reason, and without Bowie and the original actors and all the wonderful voices it would NOT be the same.

IF The Labyrinth was remade, I would go see it just out of curiosity. But it would feel horribly wrong to me if they didn't use Jennifer and David again--David is so old now yes, the only way it would work if it was a sequel and if they made the story based years after the first movie. After Sarah defeated Jareth the Labyrinth began to die- as did its ruler. (So Mr. Glitter-pants has grown old and is dying) Maybe she was brought back to save the Labyrinth, and when she does he can miraculously become young and handsome again... They can do that with CG ofcourse...

To be honest, I think it would turn out to be a great movie. We all Любовь Tim Burtons Фильмы by now, but we also know that it could never truely beat a classic.
And the movie really came to life with David Bowie, and without him in a remade version, I feel like it would be a different movie altogether, along with the enhanced effects and costumes.

I Любовь Tim's original Фильмы and remakes, but Labyrinth is such a classic, and it just would be the same without Bowie. If he does remake it though, I hope he does it in stop-motion :)

Nooooo he can't do that !!!! Labyrinth is a classic . If he does make a new one it'll be a total flop in my opinion and it just won't be the same and it wouldn't seem right either :(

The only way I could see this working and be remotely interesting would be if David Bowie was a cameo appearance as Jareth, passing on the Название to his child. Maybe Показать him and his Queen (sarah?) retiring so that their child could take over and only Показ up again if they had to come 'save' the день или something...LOL Then David Bowie could sing one song but not be the center of the movie anymore and we could see that he had a happy ending, gaining his Queen and child/children of his own.
Wouldn't it be cool to see, if Jareth had a child of his own, if it would be a girl to become the Queen of the Goblins или a boy to be the Далее Goblin King? Maybe his child would have to traverse the Labyrinth to prove they were fit to rule it, without Jareth's guidance или control, having to learn to exert their own will over its magic and inhabitants.
Now, that I could see as a feasible storyline that I would enjoy watching. Plus, I would Любовь to see Jareth in the epilogue sense of having a HEA.....LOVE the character!

I think that it would be nice for a remake but it seems as though when there is the first movie and then theres a number two they never go by the first one they need to make it where she ends up in the labyrinth and thats where they find a problem to face jareth and what not??? Ты know...

They could make an Аниме type thing of Labyrinth and just use all the same actors или impersonators and make a sequal like that.

I hate the idea of anyone remaking the labyrinth, however I would Любовь to see a sequel.
