J.K. Rowling turned Michael Jackson's idea for a harry potter musical down

J.K. Rowling says she was approached by Michael Jackson to turn her Harry Potter novels into a stage musical.

But the Автор turned him down because she was convinced that the musical wouldn't be a success.

Even though she has agreed to many merchandising deals and even a theme park, she told Oprah Winfrey that there were many things she rejected. She said:

"Michael Jackson wanted to do a musical. I сказал(-а) no to a lot of things. For me, I Любовь the films, I Любовь the books, and there's elements that I Любовь around it… like the theme park. But I only wanted to do it because I knew it would be incredible."

HopeThisWorks She shouldn't have done that. Harry Potter would've been even more awesome with the Michael Jackson element surrounding it too.

PaisleyPark I think it was smart of her to turn it down. It would have turned the series into a joke. Not that MJ is a joke, but, it's just not a good idea. It would have made it seem like J.K. Rowling was trying to make a quick buck from it.

JjenJjen I think she made a huge mistake. It would have been an awesome children's musical!!

lucaslover528 I agree with PaisleyPark. It probably would've been a success (like A Very Potter Musical) but it would've made J.K.Rowling look greedy.
