The movie is set during the Reign of Terror, when the French Aristocracy are having their heads chopped off by Robespierre's Republic. A mysterious man called the Scarlet Pimpernel snatches the people from the jaws of the Guillotine, while posing as the foppish fool Sir Percival Blakeney. When however, the King and Queen are beheaded, and the Dauphin, the heir to the трон is kidnapped, The Scarlet Pimpernel will have to sacrifice everything to save France from the iron fist of Robespierre.
