I remember visiting this website once...
Here's some stuff I remembered seeing:
The upbeat track is the second official single off their upcoming album
The song is nearly four minutes of pure pop as the guys sing about a romancing a girl, but make it clear that there are no promises of a future relationship.
It’s those lyrics, and the sound of the track, that caught some Directioners by surprise and many started thinking that this was not only a song about Harry’s ex girlfriend, Taylor Swift….
"If you're looking for someone to write a break up song about…" I swear Harry Styles wrote this to Taylor Swift, but it's PERFECT!!!
Harry: If u want someone to write ur breakup songs about, baby I'm perfect. If u think it's not about Taylor, just wake up.& its not a shade
While we have no idea if that’s true or not, after looking at the “Perfect” lyrics and some of Taylor’s rumored tracks about Harry, it’s hard to deny that some of them may be a response.
1D’s “Perfect”: “When I first saw you from across the room, I could tell that you were curious.”
Taylor Swift’s “I Knew You Were Trouble”: “Cause I knew you were trouble when you walked in/ So shame on me now.”
Taylor’s “I Knew You Were Trouble,” was always rumored to be about Harry, and this lyric could be a response to just that. Taylor knew he was trouble, while Harry knew she was curious.
1D’s “Perfect”: “And if you like having secret little rendezvous..”
Taylor Swift’s “I Know Places”: “Baby, I know places we won’t be found.”
Secret rendezvous, places you won’t be found…it’s pretty much the same thing.
1D’s “Perfect”: “Girl, I hope you’re sure, what you’re looking for/ ‘Cause I’m not good at making promises.”
Taylor Swift’s “I Wish You Would”: “You always knew how to push my buttons/ You give me everything and nothing.”
It would push my buttons if someone gave everything than nothing, but then again, they’re not good at making promises.
1D’s “Perfect”: “And if you like midnight driving with the windows down.”
Taylor Swift’s “Style”: “Midnight, You come and pick me up, no headlights.”
Apparently, Taylor and 1D both like taking midnight drives.
1D’s “Perfect”: “And if you like going places we can’t even pronounce…”
Taylor Swift’s “I Knew You Were Trouble”: “Flew me to places I’d never been…”
Not sure if those places were any that she couldn’t pronounce, but it’s along the same lines.
1D’s “Perfect”: “If you like to do the things you know that we shouldn’t do…”
Taylor Swift’s “Out Of The Woods”: “Remember when you hit the brakes too soon?/ Twenty stitches in the hospital room.”
Hitting breaks way to soon is definitely something you shouldn’t be doing, otherwise you end up with 20 stitches.
1D’s “Perfect”: “But if you like causing trouble up in hotel rooms…”
Taylor Swift’s “Out Of The Woods”: “The night we couldn’t quite forget/ When we decided to move the furniture so we could dance.”
While we don’t know if they decided to move furniture to dance in a hotel room, I guess that could cause a little trouble since it could get a bit loud. OK, this one may be a bit of a reach.
1D’s “Perfect”: “And if you like cameras flashing every time we go out.”
Taylor Swift’s “I Know Places”: “Lights flash on the run for the fences.”
Both of these lines are about the constant media attention that you receive when you date Taylor or a member from One Direction. 1D’s is more of a warning, while Taylor’s “I Know Places” was all about escaping the spotlight.
1D’s “Perfect”: “And if you’re looking for someone to write your breakup songs about/ Baby, I’m perfect.”
I mean, it doesn’t get more obvious than that. However, keep in mind, there was no real “shade” thrown by One Direction to Taylor on this track. In fact, we should be thanking both them for providing each other with some inspiration because all of these songs are pretty much “Perfect.”
