When I came to I didn't recognise where the deuce I was. It was dark and chilly. That was pretty much all I could make out. Then I heard voices. They grew louder and louder until I could almost make out what they were saying. There was a male and a female somewhere nearby. As I listened I caught things like, "'Just found him on the road', and 'Would'a bled to death had it not been for', and, 'By george I think he's coming around'.
