I don't agree with the nomination of Belem's Tower for the 7wonders of Portugal. When it was created, the tower was much simple and functional to fulfill the military utilization to protect the city. But in the 1840s the Tower of Belém was restored by King Ferdinand II. At this point many neo-manueline decorative elements were added to the building, as it look nowadays. I would prefer it to look as it was when it was built, and not as a post architectural "movement"... But it's only my opinion... lol

Eu não concordo com a nomeação da Torre de Belém para as 7 maravilhas de Portugal. Ela era originalmente menos elaborada e funcional, para satisfazer as necessidades militares de defesa da cidade. Mas, no século XIX, a torre foi restaurada por King Ferdinand II e muitos elementos decorativos neo-manuelinos foram acrescentados ao edificio, como a vemos nos nossos dias. Eu preferia que ela tivesse o aspecto original, e não o de uma restauração de um "movimento" arquitectónico posterior... mas é só a minha opinião... lol

Acho o Mosteiro dos Jerónimos completamente lindo. Não me canso de olhar quando passo lá em frente!

I have to say Pena... Sintra is a beautiful place and the Palace just gives even more to the village. It's so awesome! And the garden... wow! (And I live near XD)
