Северус Снегг Вопрос

Can Ты explain? или at least try to? I don't understand.

Severus Snape's relationship with Lily Evans.

I understand that they were Друзья since they were kids, and stopped hanging out sometime in their 5th year.

I also know that he loved her his whole life.

But I want insight into that.

Why do Ты think that he held on to her for so long?

Do Ты think that he and Lily would have ended up together, had it not been for his mistake?

Do Ты think she deserved that kind of loyalty from him?

and anything else Ты want to add.

I think he held on for several reasons. 1)That's just the type of person he is. He has trouble letting go of things (two years after the fact, he's still accusing Harry of stealing ingredients). And I think the еще profound/hurtful/impactful things are just that much harder to let go of for him. And, personal feelings for Lily aside, she had a very profound, impact on his life.
2) Guilt. You'd be surprised at what guilt can make people do. And Severus had a lot to feel guilty about when it came to Lily.
3)I don't think he ever got the chance to come to terms and Переместить on from everything that happened. We know Dumbledore used Lily and his promise to Lily as a weapon, and we know Harry was a painful, constant reminder of everything that happened. I suppose Ты could argue there was eleven years where he could have moved on, but we don't really know what those eleven years were like. Perhaps Dumbledore was still using Severus to keep track of the free Death Eaters. Perhaps he was still manipulating him to stay on board as a teacher. I, personally, think he used Severus' past to keep Severus away from the Dark Arts, and I don't think he kept that a secret from Severus.

JK сказал(-а) that if Severus hadn't been so involved in the Dark Arts, Lily would have fallen for him. However, Severus' mistake had nothing to do with Dark Arts. I think that that is a Вопрос that's really too complicated (and long!) to really say for sure. I think there's too many factors that would have to be taken out, switched around, and added in before it I could really say one way или the other.

I don't particularly like Lily. I've never been shy about it, and I tend to be horribly biased when it comes to her. I've never been shy about that, either. So, personally, no, I don't think she deserved that kind of loyalty from him. All the canon evidence points to Lily being the type of person who extends a hand to those to need it most, and expect them to repay her by being the type of person she wants them to be. I don't think she cared for Severus the way she claimed she did, and definitely not to the extent she claimed.

I think Severus knew that Lily was the only one he'd ever Любовь that there was no one else for him..as far as ending up together its possible if he didn't make the mistake but I think it would have been еще possible if he were in her house so they could stay close through the years...when Ты Любовь someone like he did Lily everything matters even if it means keeping her son безопасно, сейф from the dark lord

The funny thing is that people always say "if he were in her House", but remember what Horace Slughorn said? Lily could have been in Slytherin...now imagine that. ;)

Severus got sorted into Slytherin before Lily 'chose' to be sorted into Gryffindor. She wasn't too fussed about being with him.More like she chose james over Severus right then.

Yeah, I know, but my point was that it could just as easily have gone the other way...

Severus wasn't really happy when he's at home.
Lily was like his escape from that unhappy house he lives in. For a kid (that was Sev) who is rarely дана attention to, Lily's warmth is enough for him to hold on to. She was there when no else is.

I don't think they'd end up together. The mistake just justified how Lily wasn't that "there for him." But I am not saying Lily's bad или anything. They both had their faults. If Severus didn't fancy Dark Arts and used it against his classmates for fun, Lily would have understood. If Lily had realized that Severus was highly embarrassed at THAT time,in front of his fellow "guys" then she'd have forgiven him. If Lily remembered that he's her best friend, and that their only 15 (just like the excuse everyone's been giving for James), then they would still be friends.

I think it's right that Snape was ever loyal to her.

What's not right is that he was never forgiven yet he held on.

That's all, I guess.

There's no canon evidence that Severus EVER used Dark Magic against his classmates for fun. James and Sirius used magic against their classmates for fun, quite frequently, which makes what they were doing "Dark", but Lily refused to see it that way. With Severus, it was "guilt by association"; the jackasses Severus hung out with (like Mulciber and Avery) used Dark spells for funsies.

Indeed, BH, I'm with you. Severus was guilt of being Друзья with the wrong sort of people - still according to Lily.

I don't understand Lily, I don't understand her decision to marry James. Maybe I will never do.
But one thing is clear to me: she did not deserve Severus Snape или his Любовь for her. That is what I think.
I even can't tell Ты why I have this aversion against her. Maybe it's because she was too blue-eyed to see James' natural, how he has treated Severus in younger years etc. I hate when people do things like that. It was unfair and I can never forgive James for that, just like Lily has not forgiven Severus. But that won't answer your question.

Just something еще to add: In the movie they didn't Показать how Snape has called her mudblood and how desperate he stood infront of the portrait of the fat lady to appologize... I was so glad about it!!! It would have made it еще difficult for me to understand things about his death. So they (mostly) have shown the good things and the good sides of Snape and that is what he deserves after all he has risked. His dead was for nothing.

I wish they had actually put that in there; anyone that never read the book and only saw the last movie would wonder: wait a minute: here is snape and lily as kids, they're hanging out, james is mean to snape by knocking his Книги out of his hands; in the Далее scene there is lily and james kissing...how did that happen? its a big ?? like how did she end up with james, just watching those two scenes, and never having read the book..if they had kept in story why lily broke it off with him, would have made еще sense..i've read the Книги so i know, but a lot of people were confused..one min she's with sev, the Далее james is being an ass, the Далее she is Поцелуи james..oh well..
