I've always LOVED Stefan and Elena from the start....the way her face lit up as she smiled with her eyes and looked so happy was adorable and as was his sweet smile and and loving concern.

As Ты will see on the S.1 DVD extras Julie Plec says Vampire Diaries is about 'a girl who feels dead in side and a boy who is dead in side and how they bring each other back to life'-and that's why they're so amazing, they are good for each other-they're not pulling each other down into eternal misery but picking each other up and seeing if they're okay.

A healthy relationship:

Stefan could be over protective and suffocate her but he doesn't, he gives her freedom and let's her make her own choices, that doesn't mean he doesn't care about her but he knows she is human and independent and grown up enough to make her OWN decisions! He respects her and would never ever hurt her and that's what makes their relationship healthy and stable where as a Stelena's alternative 'Delena' is anything but that healthy. Damon makes decision for Elena that he shouldn't do-like feeding her vampire blood. He was to understand that making a decision for someone even though they'll hate it for the greater good is wrong! Vampire/human relationships to me always seem a bit risky but Stelena have totally kicked out any doubts I ever had and have replaced it with the knowledge that if a vampire really loves that human girl and if he respects and protects her it can work! They're communication is always how it should be. They discuss their feelings and actions together and share stuff like a normal couple!!!

Defining Elena from Katherine:

Granted Stefan was drawn to Elena because of her looks but he made sure she wasn't Katherine before seeking her out properly! He knew she wasn't her and could recognise the difference and Любовь her for being Elena Gilbert other than "the Katherine lookalike" which is what I think Damon sees her as. He hasn't allowed Katherine to consume him for 100+. Yes he has had to live with the memory of her but he picked himself up and made a life for him self! Damon allowed Katherine's memory to torment him and keep him thinking of the "what if" possibility which made him miserable therefore he couldn't recognise Katherine when he kissed her in 1x22 where as Stefan recognised her almost straight away 2x01 when he hugged her! He knew she wasn't Katherine and he loved her not the difference but the woman she is!!!

Liking Elena with Stefan and vise versa:

I know after 2x22 when Elena kissed Damon I was angry with her because Ты shouldn't Kiss someone else when Ты have a boyfriend and especially not your boyfriend's brother even if you're a compassionate person! The thought of Stefan suffering while it was happening stunned me too! I was angry because I thought it would have shown strength of her character and confidence in Stefan never to Kiss him in the Показать but DE and SE Фаны asked me how could I like Stelena if I hated one half of it-Elena!
But i don't hate her! She's not my favourite character on the Показать but I like her/love her with Stefan, Bonnie and Caroline ect. basically everyone except Damon. I really don't like her with him as she seems like a different person and that warmth of smile she has with Stefan is never there but that's not an issue! If I Любовь her with Stefan and like her attitude and behaviour with him then I can ship Stelena! I'll always Любовь what Stelena was, is and will be so hating her at that point of the Показать doesn't matter! Stefan is one of my favourite characters and I like him with anyone as he has a consistent nature but I still Любовь him best when he's with Elena so if Ты like characters best when they're together then Ты can ship them! Simple as.

I've heard Delena/Steferine/Staroline Фаны call Stelena
'boring'/'predictable'/'soppy' but I don't know how they can say that-if Ты find a relationship that is made up of solid love, trust and respect boring and want something unhealthy and unstable and wild then you've got something wrong with your ideas about relationships! How are they boring? Just because they've been together for almost two seasons doesn't mean they're boring-it means they Любовь each other very very much and are a strong couple!
Yes they are predictable-they'll always Любовь each other and protect each other-that's not even a reason why they can't stay together!
And the other abuse-"soppy"-every couple can be soppy when they're at leisure to spend time with each other they'll Показать they're Любовь that some might see as soppy but it's just them as a couple in love! And anyway they don't have much time to be soppy as there's danger and betrayal at every corner. I can't even think of one thing Stelena say that Ты could class as 'soppy'-saying 'I Любовь you' isn't soppy!!!
Whenever I hear a Stelena Фан saying Stelena is epic another will always put 'fail' after it! How is Stelena a fail? They're together. They've survived vampires, werewolves, a psyho ex-grilfriend, arguments and originals and they are still strong and so so in love! That's isn't a fail-it is epic! There Любовь HAS been a journey even if they did get together after two episodes-so what? Just shows the attraction was there from the word go!!!

"I met a girl and we talked and it was epic"-yes Stefan it was!

And I have every faith they will be together forever. The writers have't built up their careful amazing romance for them to crumble after two seasons to a man who doesn't really Любовь her!
