I think that Cas and Dean have just as strong of a bond and Dean and Sam. So it's a hard choice, but I think Dean would pick Cas especially if he his angel powers were gone and he was basically human like he was towards the end of season 5.

Cas is an awesome, close friend; no question. But nothing can touch the epic, brotherly bond of the Dynamic Duo IMO. ^__^

He will always choose Sam. I think Dean loves Cas (in a strictly we are best friends and I would do anything for you man, sort of way) but I mean, he would choose Sam. I think he would struggle with that choice afterward, in fact, I think it would haunt him for life (even if God brought Cas back...again) but he would still make that choice.

Dean will always choose Sam. I think that's been proven time and again. Like TeeFly said, he'd feel bad about it [just like I'm sure he feels bad that Adam's still in Hell] but I really don't think Dean's relationship with Cas can possibly compare to his relationship with Sam.

No matter how good friend Cas is for Dean, bvut he will always choose Sam.

I agree with fanfly, even though I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE...ohhh and did I mention love? ;) the Dean/Cas friendship, it's always going to be Sammy.

P.S. I think Dean feels bad about Adam being in Hell too.

Although now that I think about it, it's kind of sad to think that Dean would choose Sam. I don't think it would be an easy decision, and I think it would actually take more thought that his decision between Sam/Adam, just because Cas is his friend. His best friend (only real friend) besides Sam, who is his brother, which is different. Not to mention, Cas has literally died for him more than once, and gave up Heaven just to help Dean because he put his faith in him. That's a pretty big deal. Of course, I still know that Dean would choose Sam...it just makes me a little sad to think of how much Cas has given up for Dean/humanity and he would still choose Sam.
