It’s hard to imagine the world before “The Avengers,” given how Marvel-ous every other movie seems to be these days. But what if we lived in a world where Earth’s mightiest heroes were dominating the box office alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Terminator and Sigourney Weaver’s Ripley? What if Iron Man was around to save Alcatraz from Ed Harris’ mercenary army? What if Captain America was on deck to thwart John Travolta’s crazy plan to abandon the U.S. Air Force and steal two nuclear warheads?

Perhaps it would look a little something like this “Avengers: Age of Ultron” trailer, cut to look like it was released in 1995:
