BingoPB "Hey Bulldog" is criminally underrated. It has one of the best guitar riffs in the history of music.

ktichenor I know! It's such an awesome song.

RocknRollSoul60 It's such a shame that "Because" was not one of their big hits. It really showed off the vocal harmony between John, Paul, and George.

Peaceandlove67 "Don't Bother Me" is a great song. I read somewhere that George wrote it when he was bedridden with the flu. I think it's very clever. I also think it was admirable that he got the energy to write a song. I've had the flu. I didn't have the energy to do anything. Of course, my favorite George song is "While My Guitar Gently Weeps", which unfortunately, is underrated too.

Rubyrings I thought "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" was one of their biggest hits. It is on the Blue Album - at least I think it is. There would be a lot of overlap between this list and mine! You Like Me Too Much, Here There and Everywhere, And Your Bird Can Sing, Misery, I Need You... to name just a few!

ktichenor ^I found this: Rolling Stone ranked "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" 136th on its list of "The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time", seventh on the "100 Greatest Guitar Songs of All Time", and at number 10 on its list of "The Beatles 100 Greatest Songs". And I think it peeked at #12 on Billboard? So, I think it was a moderate hit? But it should of been bigger, imo. *This probably has changed but it was all I could find :)

80smusiclover1 Great list! I'll say that a lot of George's pre-Abbey Road songs don't get much attention, which is such a shame because it shows how he really evolved as a songwriter over time.

ktichenor Thanks! Agreed, I love hearing how his talent just evolved. His work deserves more appreciation. He's so much more than 'Something' and Here Comes The Sun (both great songs, btw)

60smusicluv I love "Strawberry Fields Forever". It's a very interesting song. I still can't figure out exactly what John says at the end. It just sounds like loud mumbling to me.

Roldan13 John said that he said, "Cranberry sauce." Of course, I always hear "I'm very bored."

RetroRock64 I hear "Cranberry sauce" every time.

ktichenor Tbh, at first I thought it was applesauce *lol* But it's Cranberry sauce, the Beatles and George Martin confirmed it :)

Peaceandlove67 I'll admit when I first heard it, I thought John said, "I buried Paul", but I thought it was an intentional in-joke in response to the rumors about Paul being dead. Of course, I now know that the rumors didn't officially start until Abbey Road was released. I really don't see how being barefooted means that someone is dead.

Rubyrings That's just crazy, isn't it! I can't believe John's actually saying "cranberry sauce". It doesn't sound anything like that to me. You don't suppose John really said "I buried Paul" just as a joke, and then when the rumours started he pretended he hadn't said that so as not to encourage them?

ktichenor ^I know but according to George Martin, he said in the Anthology Book that John liked to just say things sometimes before and after songs for no reason. Almost like counting before and after playing a song, I guess? In fact he said 'sugarplum fairy' before singing 'Day in The Life'. Julian's the same way. I think it's kind of sweet :)

Rubyrings It is sweet! But that could still support my theory that he really did say "I buried Paul", not meaning anything by it or realizing that there would be any "Paul is dead" rumours.

ktichenor Agreed and John was just being John. He meant no harm. Shame how people still come up with crazy rumors like 'Paul is dead' just because of something innocent.

The first thing the boys needed was a place to stay while they were in New York. Luckily, one of their members - Ringo - had actually planned to come here and had a hotel room all ready to stay in. The tunnels were dirty and wet. At times the Beatles were wading through knee-deep water, and it was possible that their trousers and booties would never be the same again. This was, of course, also partly due to the fact that there wasn't a lot of opportunity for changing clothes on a Quest.

For the Далее week, I stayed with John. It was heaven for me, and I think John enjoyed my company, too. But my real reason for being here never left my mind.
