Actually, Haruhi thinks that Kyon understands her feelings(he does) and they trust eachother. If Haruhi chooses Kyon, it means she needs support and she just wants to be with him. It may mean that she has romantic feelings toward him. But I think she already has that feelings :) Have Ты seen Boredom of Haruhi Suzumiya, Ты will find it in it and also Ты know, how she get excited when she meets Kyon in the Disappearance arc.!!
