Best character:Damon. He's the obvious answer for a reason. Thanks to a constantly entertaining, impressive performance by Ian Somerhalder, this is a character who can be relied on for humor, emotion and action. The show may over-rely on his angst over Elena to an extent, but Damon drives The Vampire Diaries.

Worst character:Katherine. Think about the attention that was paid to her on season one, followed by her shocking arrival on season two. Then think about where the series went with Katherine and the answer is... unclear. Ridiculously hot tomb sex aside (and that was merely a fantasy), the writers seemed to lose track of a direction for this once-vital blood sucker.

Best episode:"Klaus." I'm a sucker for the flashback. This episode officially introduced us to Joseph Morgan as Klaus and began to peel away the complicated mythology behind the Originals. Hybrid intel, the sun and the moon curse revelations and Elijah with long hair. The hour had it all!

Best storyline:The introduction of werewolves. There's just so much potential here, from Tyler and Caroline's supernatural-crossed relationship, to Klaus as a hybrid to the long-simmering feud between this species and vampires.

Hopes for 2011-2012:Fewer spells that magically fix everything; more character consistency when it comes to supporting players (i.e. Katherine, John until his death); and a true commitment to this dark version of Stefan. It's a welcome change for him and for Paul Wesley and I don't want the show to have him revert back to simply being Elena's sweet savior after just a couple episodes.

Overall grade:A-. The Vampire Diaries guarantees a wild, unexpected ride every week. No show shocks viewers as much and no show follows through as reliably on promises of game-changers and deaths. All that and the cast looks like this! Like Alaric's bed without Jenna, my Thursday nights will feel empty until September.

Best Episode: I Loved 2x19 But It's Not The Best Episode In s2.
Best Storyline: I Loved The Werewolves But Klaus And Elijah Are The Best New Storylines.
Worst Character: NO WAY IN HELL IS KAT THE WORST CHARACTER!!! Matt Is The Worst Character.
Overall Grade: A+ Not A.

Ian Somerhalder rocks, nuff said (thanks to writers of course but Damon had MANY emotions this season and Ian was brilliant, no one could play Damon like he does. He IS Damon).
BUT I also agree with the spells that "magically" (duuh) fix everything and I agree with Stefan's storyline being MORE THAN WELCOME and knowing how much Paul wanted to play a different Stefan aside from Elena's sweet BF, being the great actor he is, I hope that we get to see A LOT of STRipper(Stefan+Ripper).

Don't agree with Kat being the worst character, the argument they give would be more of the "worst written character" if they want but NOT worst character. That's different. I consider a worst character to be someone who you can't bring up much of a storyline but oh well...

I'm still deciding which was my favorite episode of the season but "Klaus" was good. "The Sun Also Rises", "Masquerade", "As I Lay Dying", "The Sacrifice" and a couple more are in MY list of best episodes... but then again, I'm still deciding.

At the end of season 1 we were all anxiously waiting to see how the werewolf storyline developed in S2and I can now say that I was satisfied with it. That's why I have so much faith for S3 to kick ass with the stryline of the Originals.

It's a good thing that the writers start discussing S3 tomorrow (or was it today?), it kind of gives me some relief but not so much cause we still have to wait 3. FREAKIN'. MONTHS.

& werewolf storyline.

No freaking way in hell is Katherine the worst character on the show. I my opinion, it easily goes to Jules or Matt or someone that is just there but doesn't really do much. Kat is amazing, one of the better characters in my opinion.

Best character; I kind of knew they were going to do that. Tv Fanatic are in love with Damon and Ian. I disagree, simply because all though I do love Damon, I would have given best character to Katherine.

Best episode is definitely 2x21. That was epic.

Katherine is one of the best characters in my opinion! How in the hell can she be the worst character? In that case Matt should have been the one, he has not a good storyline and he is very very boring!

I do agree with this one, i was expecting so much more from her and about her, i was expecting ehr to talk differently to Elena, they are not twins they should have nothing in commom especially as they are fom different generations, Kat was written and acted sloppily!

This is the only one that I agree with. Katherine is definately not the worst character! Matt or Liz maybe, not Katherine. I liked Klaus but 2x22 would have to my favourite. I don't really care about the spells and so on. The werewolf storyline was good but Klaus and Elijah would be my favourite storyline from season 2. And I'm really excited for the Stefan the Ripper storyline! We finally get to see an interesting side to Stefan, I like him now, but he may become my favourite character if the ripper storyline is good. Plus, we get some Delena being badass trying to find Stefan, and how Damon will repay his brother for what he done for him :) Roll on season 3 :)
