'No Sanctuary' is the Most Terrifying Piece Of TV You'll Ever See: Here's Why 

The Walking Dead returns to both UK and US screens in a matter of days but if you thought the first four seasons of the show ramped up the tension (and the body count), you\'ll need these next couple of days to prepare yourself for the season five opener.

EntertainmentWise have had a sneak preview of the first episode and we\'re gonna go out on a decapitated limb and say it\'s the best episode yet. Without giving too much away, here\'s what you\'ve got to look forward to.

When season four left off Rick, Daryl, Maggie, Carl, Glenn, Michonne, Sasha, Bob, Abraham, Eugene and Rosita were trapped in a box on the Terminus compound. The opening of season five sees them plotting their escape but things don\'t go to plan. As always with The Walking Dead, you\'re gonna want to watch this series on a big screen in the dark, just to create the right atmosphere. But be warned, the first nine minutes of the premiere will make you want to leave the room out of sheer desperation to end the tension. Stick it out.

We begin to learn a lot more about the Terminus group this season, with some flashback scenes featuring Gareth and co. As well as the fleshing out of the baddies, we also know that more new characters will pop up throughout the season with Father Gabriel Stokes an exciting addition.

Rick\'s gang haven\'t all been together since the prison fell midway through season four, and frankly we\'re chomping at the bit to see everyone together again. The multiple story strands and groups in the second half of season four made for an interesting change of pace, but Carol and Daryl need to be back together, while we\'re tearing up just thinking about the moment if and when Rick and Carl find out baby Judith is alive.

Tyreese had a hell of a time in season four, escaping the prison with Carol, baby Judith, Mika and Lizzie, who went a bit doolally (just keep looking at the flowers). Then there was the moment when Carol broke the news she\'d killed his girlfriend Karen, making for a pretty awkward journey to Terminus. But at the beginning of season five Tyreese gets his mojo back (as hinted at in a recent teaser) and has a big scene stealing moment with baby Judith.

Carol is also a big feature in the premiere episode. We\'re not saying anymore except to say that she’s even more bad ass this season than the last. And that\'s saying a lot considering she shot Lizzie in the head.

There\'s a big set piece to rival the Governor\'s storming of the prison

While Terminus was the big end goal for half of season four, we won’t be sticking around for long with the first episode featuring a big action sequence that will force the group back on the road again. We\'re hoping this season will focus on getting Eugene to Washington and finding out more about his big cure.

The Walking Dead season five starts in the US on October 12 and the UK on October 13.
