How did Daphne become a bodyless spirit?

Okay, so basically I found part of an episode from season 4 online and there was a HUGE 4kids vs RAI war going on in the comments.

I grew up with the 4kids version, so this is how they put it:

When Daphne was relatively young (about thirteen years old) the Ancestral Witches invaded Domino (called Sparx in this version) and turned the realm into a Холодное сердце wasteland, destroying Daphne in the process right after she was able to transport Bloom to earth. As a result, Daphne becomes a bodiless spirit.

NEW VERSION:

In season 4 when Bloom was in the room of faraway reflections she discovered that Daphne and Politea were once both nymphs of Magix. The Ancestral witches attacked, and Daphne managed to fight them off. However, the секунда time they attacked, Daphne could not fight them off and begged Politea for help. But for some reason или another Politea refused to help her and the witches put a curse on Sirenix, turning Daphne into a spirit and Politea into a monster.
