Optimus had the coolest cartoon voice EVER.

For cool voices, you can't beat Grimlock! I mean, what other character can everyone imitate to perfection and enjoyment?

But I always found Starscream to be a character operating on a different level of pathos than all the rest. Nuts as he is, you can really empathize for the guy - he's skilled, but his plans never work AND he gets nothing but abuse from his boss...

Got to love Fortress Maximus arguably the strongest and largest Autobot ever, at least in the animated series and one of the largest in the comics.

Great leadership, valor and dedication the Autobot cause. He is what many Autobots fail to measure up to a true believer in peace and is willing to fight to the death to protect it.

Oh and the G1 toy ROCKS!

I agree with newbie, and then some! Peter Cullen doing Prime's voice is awesome & they did it right bringing him back to do Prime's voice for the recent live-action movie!

Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime ROCKS. As Hot Rod he was care free and cool. As Rodimus he had BIG shoes to feel and he did... WAAAAAY better than Optimus because he had more of a human side to him in that he felt pressure as a new leader and had more worries but still was a GREAT leader.

Optimus shouldn't have been brought back....EVER. They had so many things they could have done with Rodimus and pushed his character more.
