Agree with the three above me in a way....butttt hey you gotta have a antagoist and a proantagonist in every story. that one guy who always likes/loves the girl but never really gets with him because they are too close as friends.

the only reason why she fell for Jake was because he was there to cheer her up and everything and they spent to much time together...
now if Edward wouldnt have left she never would have spent all that time with Jake so she wouldnt have fallen for him
