It was past curfew, and SilverWings knew it. She hurried down the улица, уличный and into the alley. The telephone booth was almost welcoming compared to the cold, desolate night. She cringed as the computer announced her arrival in a loud, robotic voice. Recognize: SilverWings B-26.
She looked around warily and, seeing that the cost was clear, ran quickly to her room. She shut the door quietly behind her, shut her eyes, and laid her head back against it, sighing with relief.
"What were Ты doing out so late?" Silver jumped and pulled the dagger from her boot before she saw the intruder.
Sitting on her bed.
Strike that.
Lounging on the bed. And Чтение a comic book.
"Alek!" Silver exclaimed. "You scared me!'
"Obviously," he said, lowering the comic book to look at his partner. He raised an eyebrow. "What are Ты wearing?"
Silver crossed her arms, trying to ignore the growing heat in her cheeks. The short black dress she wore only stretched half way to her knees. The black leggings were no help.
The outfit was revealing. She totally despised it and wished for nothing еще than the куртка and jeans of her heroin outfit. But it had been necessary for the mission she had gone on.
"Why are Ты in here?" she asked him. She knew he realized she was only trying to avoid the question, but what was she supposed to say? It was easier to infiltrate the club this way? That would fly smoothly with her partner.
"Waiting for you," he answered. Silver gave him a suspicious look.
"Why?" she said. Alek smiled mischievously.
"Get dressed in civvies. We leave in ten." He stood from her постель, кровати and walked past her and out the door.

Five минуты and Silver was dressed back into her civvies. She had chosen a warm sweater, sweats, boots, and a scarf to вверх it off. She had stuffed the dress into the back of her closet for it to collect dust.
She met Alek by the zeta tubes and was surprised to find Terror and Aisling waiting with him.
"Hey, guy," she greeted them. "Where are we all headed?"
Aisling and Terror exchanged looks then asked in unison, "You didn't tell her?"
Alek shrugged. "She wouldn't have agreed to come."
Aisling shrugged, as if agreeing. Terror looked somewhat amused.
"Maybe she would have, maybe she wouldn't have," Silver said, resorting to referring to herself in the third person. "Where are we going?"
Alek hurried through the zeta. Terror shrugged and followed. Aisling hurried after them. Silver sighed, aware she had just fallen into a trap, and walked out the zeta tube.

"Now will Ты tell me where we're going?" Silver asked. They had been walking for almost half an hour. The only change she sensed was the breeze that blew off the ocean. The silhouette of the ferris wheel of the peir loomed over a row of shops.
"And ruin the surprise?" Alek said. He walked in front of her, leading the group. Aisling walked beside Silver, quiet as ever. Terror followed behind them. He was so silent, Silver looked back every now and then to make sure he was still there. He was. Half the time. The other half he was too far in the shadows for her to see him.
None of them gave a hint to where they were heading.
"Are we there yet?" Silver asked.
Alek sighed. "Almost."
The group rounded a corner and Silver stopped so quickly that Terror nearly bumped into her.
Alek kept walking, oblivious to fact the others had stopped. He continued into the lighthouse. It looked abandoned.
"Come on," Aisling сказал(-а) eagerly. Silver followeOd her into the light house and up the rusting staircase, Terror close behind.
"Woah," Silver breathed as she stepped out onto the balcony.
The wind carried the scent of sea water from the ocean below. Along with it came the crashing of the waves on the rocks. It was the only sound she could hear apart from the distant city banter.
The light was out, and the four teens stood side by side in complete darkness.
"Wait for it," Aisling said. She had her eyes focused on the dark sky, waiting for... Whatever was so important they had to venture all this way in the midst of the night for.
"Terror found about this place while out on a recon mission," Alek said, filling the silence. "When Ash and I discovered out tonight's event, Terror suggested using the light house as a veiw point. We decided to keep to the three of us, to minimize the risk of getting caught."
"Of course, Alek needed toshrink his sister along," Terror said, though not unkindly.
"I'm glad he did," Silver said, earning a smile from her "brother". "Wait," Silver said, "what do Ты mean 'tonight's event'?"
Alek opened his mouth to explain, but Aisling pointed upward, stopping him. "Look!" she exclaimed.
All four of them looked up to the sky that had been empty a минута before. It was now filled by stars as they streaked into existence, disappearing a moment later.
"Are those-"
"Meteors," Terror said.
The shooting stars continued to fall, chasing each other across the black void. None of the teens spoke until the dozens of meteors pettered out to a handful, then one или two at a time.
"Glad we got to see this tonight," Alek said.
"Why's that?" Aisling asked. She was leaning вперед on the railing beside Silver, as it wanting to get closer to the falling stars.
"Because Red Tornado will kill us when he catches us sneaking in past curfew."
The girls groaned, but Terror didn't share in their disdane. He was smiling as a thought played in his head.
"Let's not get caught," he said.
All four exchanges a look and grinned. Challenge accepted.

I kinda came up with the lighthouse and meteor душ on the fly. My original plan was to have them jump off one of the bridges leading out of Gotham (one of the ones connecting it to the main land) and go night swimming, but I thought this made еще sense. Then I needed to post five pictures, just for the heck of it. Voilà!
