Ra's turned away from the screen. He was tired of watching the girls. They were doing well but Ra's needed to bathe in the Lazarus pits. His skin glowed as the warm water's healing steam wrapped around him. He sighed, pleased. His body was feeling worn and old. He was millions of years old but, thanks the the Lazarus pits, he was immortal. As long as he soaked in them every day. If not, he could turn to dust. Then he'd be dead. Ra's stepped into the water, feeling his body begin to heal. Life was worth living for; but only if he could destroy it and rebuild humanity his way.

“What is it Klarion?”
“The Light requires your opinion on something.”

“Is it wise to have Jade's power kick in? She was sent to infiltrate. They might get the wrong idea if...”

Blood filled humans. And one Martian. Two clones. One Atlantian. All different kinds of blood. The substance she was suddenly craving. Jade stood, looking at the world through new eyes. Everything was stripped of skin and outer layers. She was seeing the inside of every living thing. Every microscopic creature. And everything was truly delicious looking. Jade retracted the fangs in her mouth, looking at her first victim. She didn't know who she grabbed. She didn't know her fangs had dug into his neck. All she knew was the blood was delicious and she wanted more.

“You failed me Slade.”
“I know master. But she is stronger than we first expected.”
“Yes. I know. I expected as much from her. But we now have her in a dangerous position.”
“Master?”
“Shade must make her choice. She has followed the Light for seventy years. Now, she must choose whether she is willing to risk everything или to continue to play hero.”
“And if she chooses hero?”
“She won't.”
“But Master-”
“Shade thinks she is in the clear. But I have one last trick up my sleeve.”
