Fanpup says...
I remember visiting this website once...
It was called Jenna Coleman Leaving at Christmas? | Doctor Who TV
Here's some stuff I remembered seeing:
504. The Time of Angels / 505. Flesh and…
508. The Hungry Earth / 509. Cold Blood
308. Human Nature / 309. The Family of…
312. The Sound of Drums / 313. Last of…
104. Aliens of London / 105. World War…
The Mirror is claiming Jenna Coleman will leave the show in this year’s Christmas special.
The actress, 28, is believed to be quitting her role as the Time Lord’s assistant in a sensational Christmas storyline.
Her exit could bring an end to her 18 months as Clara Oswald, creating a vacancy for another sidekick to star alongside new Doctor Who, Peter Capaldi.
Yesterday a source said: “The conversations about Jenna’s exit have started, and a plan is in place which is being ironed out.
“By the time she leaves she will be one of the longest-standing companions ever. She has been absolutely brilliant in the role, but everyone agrees it is a part that should change after a period.”
The source added: “It was very much a mutual decision.
“It’s important to keep the series moving and fast-paced, and the time is just starting to feel right and the feeling is that it could be a perfect Christmas storyline.”
Given the source, take with a liberal dose of salt until we hear official word.

I personally don\'t believe this for a second for reasons most of you have already stated, i.e. the BBC or Jenna herself would\'ve spoken about this by now. Another reason that comes to mind is the fact she is very happy with her role right now and since Capaldi has just come onboard I think she\'ll stay for a while. It is that little fear that because their Doctor has gone, like Billie Piper for example, they go after just one series with the new Doctor. But I feel it\'s safe to say Jenna won\'t leave until Series 9 at the earliest possibility. She would\'ve been on the show by then for about three whole series, plus the 50th and Matt\'s leaving story. Not a bad amount to leave on but there are also chances she\'ll stay on further. I\'d also like to add my addition to being applaud by the Mirror for releasing such a statement, especially if it isn\'t true. The extent of the information and the part about talking about talks of a replacement is just truly disrespectful to poor Jenna. Journalists need to learn some bloody respect if you ask me instead of just being vultures seeking out a job opportunity.
Did they say Jenna would be the longest companion after leaving the christmas special? No...Amy did 2 and a half series, 3 years total. Clara would have only lasted about 2 years (and I mean modern day Clara Oswald since the two clara\'s before dont necessarily count)
Literally the only tabloid that I even half way trust about DW spoilers is the Star, as it has got major things right before. For example, it announced well before Series 6 that River was to be the daughter of "a major companion", and also knew that Jenna would start her role in Series 7 Ep. 1, something I doubted knowing the new companion would start at Christmas, but turned out to be correct. That said, it did claim that the Doctor was going to be a woman on more than one occasion, and, unless Capaldi is hiding something, that hasn\'t happened
I wish the  BBC issueed a statement saying she\'s staying for series 9. Just so I can sleep well tonight.
According to Digital Spy, Coleman has stated that her DW role is a \'once in a lifetime opportunity\'. Doesn\'t sound to me like she is ready to leave just yet...
Meh... it\'s coming from the Mirror, their "source" has been wrong before, and there has been no official announcement yet. I won\'t worry about it yet, lol. My rule is that if it doesn\'t come from the BBC or the DW team or the actors themselves, i don\'t believe it. And the Mirror should be ashamed f themselves for writing such a disrespectful pile of rubbish before any official announcement has been made. But hey, that\'s how tabloids make their money...
They would\'ve reported it by now if she was leaving because I remember when they announced the Ponds were leaving that was in the early months of 2012 and Series 7(A) didn\'t air until September so again I\'m going to take this with doubt.
I find this whole thing absolutely infuriating. Regardless of how you feel about Clara as a character leaving the show, the way the Mirror (and now many other news sites from that) has reported this is utterly ridiculous. They seem so eager to make headlines that they are being incredibly disrespectful to Jenna.
Just because ONE source from on ONE news site (and I say "news site" very loosely) has claimed that she is leaving, suddenly their writing premature eulogies for her! These sites are acting as if she\'s packed her bags and left already! Not only are they dismissing her character (and by extension Jenna) before her new series has even aired, but they are ALREADY talking about her replacement!
I sincerely hope that Jenna (or anyone for that matter) doesn\'t read these "reports". To broadcast that "she quit" looks bad on her and quite frankly is a compleat lie. Maybe she is leaving this Christmas, but this is exactly WHY the BBC haven\'t said anything, it overshadows her time on this series! Sorry about the rant.
Ah that\'d suck, I really like Jenna as Clara. :C
It\'s from a tabloid, so it\'s false until the BBC confirms it. They do make things up.
Jenna did an interview in today\'s Independent newspaper in the UK - it\'s available online and contains this quote re the possibility of a career after DW: "It\'s not, however, something Coleman is thinking about right now. "At the moment I\'m really happy," she says. "It\'s one of those jobs that will only happen once – the whole adventure that it brings. The key is not to worry about the future, and enjoy it."
The longest standing companion is probably referring to Clara rather thanJenna
She ain\'t leaving until we find out who gave her the Doctor\'s number in the shop! once we find that out we can feed her to some Abzorbalofs for all I care
I\'d rather they just didn\'t bother even saying if she was leaving, I\'d rather it be surprise
I don\'t mind this actually. We didn\'t really know her as well as the other companions - That going back in time story was crazy, didn\'t have a basis either. Would like to see a New Doctor and New companion for new series. (Would like to see Jenna in other shows though!)
With how this site is with spoilers, why would you post that as the headline?  Isn\'t a companion possibly leaving the show a HUGE spoiler?  Why not make the headline "Cast memebr potentially leaving at Christmas? (Spoilers!) and then in the column hide the spoiler so we can choose to see it or not.
I don\'t want Clara to go. Not yet. Stay until series 9 Clara!!! I really don\'t want Clara killed off either. She is the impossible girl. She deserves a happy ending.
I seriously doubt this is real. Pretty sure they would have announced it much earlier.
I feel as though we are only just starting to get used to Clara. Series 8 may see her go from an average companion to a much loved companion. As others have said, she has a SJS vibe. I do not think Jenna will leave just yet. The show is more popular than ever in the wake of the 50th and this world tour proves that numerous amounts of countries love the show as much as us Brits.
Maybe Jenna feels uncomfortable with Peter Capaldi, since there is such a big age gap.
I just remembered...this is the newspaper that said Paris Jackson (Michael Jackson\'s daughter) was being considered as the next Doctor...
Jenna signed a 2 year contract when she joined in 2012 and this ends in September. There hasn\'t been any announcement that she has extended it.
Oh great, I finally warm to a companion and already she\'s leaving! Not sure about longest-serving companion though? What about Ponds, Tegan, Sarah-Jane, Ace, Jo....? :)
Ok, just Googled this and it\'s all over the Internet. They all quote the Mirror though.
I need some reassurance from Jenna, Moffat, the BBC. Please, please tell us this is not true !!
It\'s not just the Mirror anymore, lots of sites and newspapers are running this. Gotta be honest, I think it\'s probably true. A shame. Her character will never get the chance to actually develop much. Nothing against Jenna at all (lovely lady, very kind) but I certainly think Clara will be down there with Martha and Mel in the list of rubbish companions.
@TheSoundofDrums It\'s insulting enough for the Mirror to post this, even worse to broadcast it as a definite fact before an official statement has been released!
@ayesis There is no indication that Coleman is leaving the show.
Although I don\'t believe this report has any grounding in truth. We know how the BBC do these things, and it\'s to pre-empt any genuine leaks by bringing their own announcement forward. If she does leave at Christmas, The Mirror don\'t know about it yet.
@Ivegotnewkidneys on the 23rd give up, we are never going to know! :P
@Ivegotnewkidneys on the 23rd Hmph. It just occurred to me that it couldn\'t have been River (my personal favorite explanation for it), since she met River in Name.
Yeah, she is definitely not leaving till we find that one out.
spoiler that will definitely happen. b) If Jenna Coleman is definately leaving there is no way in this day and age the BBC will be able to keep it a secret. They will officially announce way before filming. You can\'t keep companion exits a secret anymore. Plus they\'ll want to generate massive publicity surrounding the exit and the next companion.
@007 Bond 50 No.....they have been getting along great since they started working together
@007 Bond 50 They look much happier together in photos than I ever saw her with Matt Smith, who is closer to her own age.
@007 Bond 50 They seem to get on really well. :)
Speaking as an actor, no! Age is not an issue when you\'re working with someone of Capaldi\'s calibre.
Jenna has continuously expressed that one of the best parts of working on Series 8 was working alongside Peter Capaldi who she loves and sees as a best friend. You only need to look at the videos of them together to see how much admiration and respect they have for each other. So, no.
@TardisBoy O.O That\'s beyond ridiculous. There is no longer enough salt in the universe to take for this poor excuse for a tabloid.
@markdav42 Well, obviously she has, since she will definitely not be leaving after Episode 2 of the new series.
@Venawesomeo Clara is already a wonderfully developed character, much more so than Martha or Mel. Series 8 will just build her character even more :)
Her character will never get the chance to actually develop much
" Wow, you\'ve seen Series 8 already? Tell us what happens in the finale please!
@YaelMoise @Ivegotnewkidneys on the 23rd If River was the woman in the shop, Clara would have recognized her in
@supermoff  @007 Bond 50 Indeed, it seems in interviews they do nothing but praise each other!
@DWTV Ugh, even worse than the Mirror...
@Im His Carer @markdav42 As Simon below me said, it covers all the episodes she filmed- and I\'ve read somewhere that the Christmas Special shooting was going to happen after the DW Tour. (I think?). So I don\'t think she extended or renewed her contract, I think she\'s leaving.
@Im His Carer @markdav42 If her contract ran to Sept 2014, then it would cover all of the series so far filmed - it\'s not live you know - and the Xmas special which will film next month.
