Chapter 5
(Mystery/Sci-Fi genre)
Turns out that the “base” Steve was referring to, was a small 1 story shed at the back of some person’s yard. Juliet raised her eyebrows.
“Seriously? THIS is your secret base…”
Steve laughed. “Don’t judge us before Ты get to know us.” he walked into the shed, motioning for her to enter. Juliet sighed and walked in, not expecting much. She didn’t expect for him to grab a shovel and start hitting the ground.
“What are Ты doing?”
“I’m trying to find it…this thing is always so darn difficult to find…AHA! Here we are.” he reached down and pulled off a piece of the floor, revealing a rope ladder. He motioned for her to go first and Juliet looked at him.
“The inside had better be еще impressive than this.” she mumbled as she started climbing down the ladder. When there was enough room, Steve followed, replacing the floorboard as he went. Several electric torches lit up when he did, filling the small area with light. The two of them climbed down the ladder for a full 5 минуты before reaching the bottom. When they did, Juliet gave a startled gasp. “Whoa!”
Steve just laughed. “So I take it the inside is еще impressive?” Juliet just nodded. It was like they had climbed down into a top-secret government facility. Everything was shiny, there were several monitors that were doing things she could only guess at, and hundreds upon hundreds of buttons! She felt out of place in the midst of all this technology. By her count, she could only recognize one или two of the items in sight. Steve saw her looking around and smirked. “Come on, we got еще to Показать you.”
“More than this? Seems like overkill.”
Steve laughed and led her through the room, stopping her from pressing a particularly cool looking button, and into another room, this one еще like a dentist’s waiting room. As Juliet looked around, Steve went through another door. Juliet waited over 10 минуты before she started to get irritated. This was taking forever! Did he seriously forget? It wouldn’t surprise her from what she knew of Steve. He was known to say something, then forget about it within an hour. She was about to storm through the door when it swung open and Steve strode through it, smiling.
“Sorry about that, had to guess at your size.” he said, holding up a lab coat.
“What’s that for?” she asked.
“Standard procedure.” he laughed, tossing the пальто to her. She rolled her eyes and put on the coat, which was about 2 sizes too big. She decided she would save that for later and followed him through the door.

We are going separate ways.
We must leave each other,
Though I regret it,
There is nothing either of us
Can do.
We are going separate ways.
The bright light shines in our futures,
For the separate ways we go
Are the best for each of us.
We must leave for the good of it,
Though I don't want to,
And I know Ты don't either.
But it is important that we do.
It is never easy
Doing what we do the worst,
Leaving each other,
And the thoughts that we are...
Best friends...leaving each other...
We must go our separate ways.
For our own good.
And we pray that one day...
We will meet each other again.
And we will.
